Sure...in any given year, the 12 pick will have a varying level overall talent for the players projected in that range. I trust that the FO will analyze that in much more detail than I could. However, historically and pretty consistently, the 10-14 range has produced some really great and affordable talent. To me, it seems like you move past the high-risk/high-reward/(killer contract) players

Chyren - I'm with you on Ginn's speed...undeniable. I am not in favor of getting rid of him because of the glimpses we saw with him and Henne connecting. One of them called back, but one of them was Darrelle Revis, whom every commentator seems to be clamoring to get their head lodged up his rear end. If Ginn goes in a trade, I sincerely hope it's part of something that brings a true, TRUE #1.

Back on topic - in general, I absolutely think keeping the #12 pick is the right thing to do. If you look at the past 5+ years the picks were: Vilma Merriman Ngata Lynch Clady Moreno Moreover, when you look at the picks in the 10-14 range, it's absolutely full of probowlers. Plus, you get the talent at a much lower price than a top 5 pick.

Frankly, I'm torn on CC. I used to love him and defend him to death, but I just couldn't take the drops. It's subjective and has been argued to death, but I subjectively thought he dropped the ball far too often when he was with us. So, I soured on him and thought we got good value in getting a #2 for him. The one time I flipped to a KC game, I saw him drop a critical pass near the end of the

Not sure that it means anything, but all the '0/0/0' WR were taken very close to one another. Sort of feels like there was a 3rd-round run on tier-2 WR in the draft and teams took shots on players they thought (probably a little too) highly of. Similar to what you pointed out about other teams taking 2 WR, NE drafted Brandon Tate and then Julian Edelman in the 7th round, and it was Julian who

Sorry - back to the topic at hand...I would love to see Boldin here for a 3rd. However, if I view it from AZ's perspective, I'd have a hard time letting him go with Warner's retirement. Off-field stuff aside, he's very steady on the field and would likely help their QB adjust. If we got him, could he teach Ginn to be tough?

To pile onto that, Berkeley, the time Wanny chose NOT to run Ricky was at the end of the regular season finale in NE when Ricky had already run for 185 yards and 2 TD. If memory serves correctly, he chose Jay "I finished the game 11-25 with 1 TD" Fiedler to try to close out the game when we had the lead. I want to say 3 incompletions in that series not only gave the ball to NE, but st

I am less concerned about the 2nd/3rd chance part, as that will drive the price down. When I look at him, I wonder how and how much he'd improve our WR corps. We're lacking a true #1, and I don't think he is that. I think he's had chances to be that but always ended up being a great 2nd/3rd option. In his last couple of years w/the Saints, Joe Horn outplayed him like crazy in 04 and in 05,

I agree that a rookie WR isn't likely to completely overhaul our passing game...I think that would be an unrealistic expectation (and I think I implied drafting the WR in my post above...I meant acquiring). I am also not in favor of taking a lesser player at WR than TE just because I think the position would add more value to our team...even though, in general, I think the WR position is more

I hope that they understand that the fans are the ones who make the NFL valuable. If there is a lockout/work stoppage for any material length of time, they risk alienating me. I've shared it before, but in the 1980's and early 90's, I was a huge baseball fan as a kid. I'm certain I'd be spending hundreds if not thousands on baseball stuff now if the strike hadn't cost the 94(?) World Series.

Truly unbelievable that the weakest unit on the team (perhaps excluding Safeties) would run their mouths like that.

I thought they let him go because of the money...because they didn't want to pay him. If he couldn't leave for 2 more years anyway, what kind of money was he expecting? My understanding is that currently, players reach unrestricted free agency after four years of service. If the salary cap goes away, that number becomes six years. Instead of being an unrestricted FA, he would instead become

I would try to keep Ginn on the team because he's worth more to us w/Marshall on the team and Ginn as 3rd/4th receiver than he's worth to us now as ??? (1st going into the season). In other words, his value increases for us if we keep him and acquire a #1. His value to Denver w/o a #1 is probably pretty easy for them to gauge based upon his performance here.

I'm certain we're not...he's clearly an important part of a defense that looks every bit the PIT/BAL part.

He made some tough catches prior to this year and even at the end of this year he was reliable. God gives hands, but He also gives a talent for catching the ball. Some people just naturally do it better than others. I don't think Ginn has been given an overabundant natural talent in that area. In the area of speed, he has. Each can be improved, but I believe only marginal speed improveme

Ken - that's how I see it, though I'd prefer (1) not to be a rookie. However, in this year's FA, I just don't see a good FA WR making it to us.

I know you didn't ask me, but I'll take a stab at the Ginn question. 1 - He has something that is God-given and can't be manufactured or coached. 2 - We are 3-0 against the Jests in our past 3 games, and he was a huge part of why we won each of them.

He's the perfect #2. Smart, good route-runner, good hands, will fight for the catch pretty well, seems to get very good separation and YAC. I think he can beat nearly all of the #2 corners in the league pretty consistently. I think he could be exactly what we need for years in the #2 role, but I don't think he'll ever be the type that defenses change gameplans because of. A true #1 receiver p
