Anything is better than what we have had for a MLB the last 2 years. I don't want to over pay him but we don't have a starting quality mlb on our roster unless one of the last years rookie free agents improves vastly this offseason.

I suspect that the other 3 AFC east team are not going to be active in free agency. The Jets have the most cap space $14M in the AFC east but they have the most expensive free agents. Wilkerson, Harrison, Ivory, and Fitzpatrick are all free agents that contributed to their systems last year. They are likely to lose on DL. I find it funny that the Bills put in the poison pill in Charles Ckay cont

ESPN had an article yesterday that with the veteran cuts, the NFL might have $1 Billion of salary cap room to spend for this year. (The would be an average of almost $32 million per team) This could be one expensive free agency year. I suspect we will see some insane contracts.

I will root for the Bronco's but ultimately I do not care, either way. Hopefully it is an entertaining game.

BTW I think $8 over the cap isn't correct because of the roll over. On overthecap.com, 'cap space' on the dark red ribbon, the dolphins are 'currently' $2.685M over conservative $150M cap. This doesn't include Jason Fox which put them at around $1.4M over. It looks like Miami rolled over $9.1M of cap space from last year. If you look at overthecap, a lot of team have a lot of money. 2/3 of the

I agree some of those calls should have been called either in the grasp or intentional grounding. It was nice to see another team struggle with OL imploding for once.

I doubt the Patriot wanted to lose. The game plan was too conservative and the Ptriots came out flat. Under Belichick, the Patriots are 1-2 in the playoffs at Denver. The only win was against tebow. Historically the Patriots have not done well in Denver in the thin air. Brady is also 2-2 against Manning in the playoffs as well with the home qb winnning every games.

Belichick always talks up opponents, I wouldn't get too excited. I think it's his strategy so his teams don't overlook opponents.

The Patriots were trying to win but I think they were doing with an eye towards not getting Brady or Gronk hurt. If they weren't trying to win they would have pulled Brady after the Suh hit. It's too bad that the Patriots OL grabbed Suh's face mask, Suh was unblocked with a full head of steam and was about to blow Brady up on that sack.
I think belichick thought they could run successfully th

if Miami would have lost, we would have picked 6th. I know Jacksonville currently has a higher strength of schedule but Miami sos would have be been increased by two wins, because Miami plays New England twice. Jacksonville played both Miami and NE this season so their SOS isn't affected by either Miami or NE win.

My take on Vernon, Miller and Matthews.
Let Vernon go, he is going to command too much money, plus I am not sold on him, he has made some bone head penalties, plus I have a feeling he is liability in the run game.
Sign Miller if possible, RB aren't commanding big $ anymore. $4-5M/year deal might be enough to keep him.
Let Matthew test FA, if we get him for reasonable, than sign him,

I think Belichick out smarted himself and lost sight of the fact they would immediately lose the game if the Jets scored a TD.

Cameron Wake is going to be likely cut if does not restructure his deal. He is in the last year of his deal, so their is no future money that will accelerated against the cap. No one is going to pay a 34 year old DE coming off an achilles injury $8.3M/year. I would like to Miami resign him to an incentive ladened contract based on performance.
Grimes is a little tougher issue. I looked at hi

I am with you, especially when we can potentially knock them from the #1 seed and home field advantage. Even if they win, Mi

After seeing Albert go down last game, I feared the worse. We don't need another injury on a key player that takes 1 year of rehab. Suh may not be the game charger we expected, but he isn't playing that poorly and Miami is on the hook for 2 more years no matter what and he takes up 28.6 million of cap space next year. A major injury in two meaningless games would be a big blow for next year. It

Dan Campbell probably won't do this because he is fighting for a job, but it would be in the teams best interest to rest or limit the reps of a few critical player in the last two games. Albert, Landry, Suh and Jones would be on my list.

Two things really stand out to me.
On offense the lack of mid level passing game. Last year our offense was pretty successful running 10-15 year passes. I don't see any out patterns. Landry is good, but Wallace, Hartline and Clay were all more productive than current WR. Tannehill also worked with those receivers for pretty much his whole career prior to this years. I wonder if if we made

A good draft is usually measured as getting a pro bowl player and 2-3 starters. Every team usually misses on at least half the picks. Great draft would be 2 pro bowl players. These are not what I would call poor drafts. Look at other teams drafts.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Maybe this would have been possibility if Miami won last night. I wouldn't rent a player in what likely isn't going to be playoff year.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Not good news. Wake is done for the year. He is also 34 next year and Achilles injuries are hard to come back from. This could be the end of his productive years.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
I am crossing my fingers it isn't ruptured.
Wake is a competitor, even after he clearly hurting his leg, he still tried a couple more time to rush Brady. Grimes did that a month ago when he hurt his knee as well trying to makin a tackle after coming up lame. Wake will be missed.
