I feel this game was a major wake up call.
I'm thinking we're going to be much better after the bye.
Course, that's the fan in me talking... but still... Go Phins!

Well, I'll say this, that's an optimist
However, in reality, you're quite right. We were in all these games and we beat ourselves with our own mistakes. I think things are going to improve further. We've got a real shot at the SB every year now IMHO. Not something I'd of said a few years ago...

Great article.... I too am feeling optimistic about 2010... and your article was written before the pickup of Nolan.
2010 is going to be other interesting season!

Reports are we've scored Mike Nolan as our Defensive Co-ordinator.
Wow, what a great pickup. This is awesome news!

Damn, and to think, Football used to be a game played outside.
I wonder if in the Future a young fan will turn to his Grandpa and say "Grandpa, is it true they used to play football games in the snow?" And Grandpa will say, "Yes, grandson, it's true.... Rain or shine, Hot or cold, windy or calm, the game was played by men."
In the future the games will all be indoors,

Tard. There must be something in the air they pump into Ivory Towers which makes them live in some sort of Dream World where they believe the entire world revolves around them and their Whims.
It's good to be the King, et al. Wonder what the real agenda is....

I'm going to have to agree. We've found a good QB. Now we need the weapons in our arsenal for Henne to use to blow up the other teams.

Time to regulate the NFL with the Government.
Or the Government could "make noise" like they plan to get involved, and then hopefully the owners adopt a more reasonable plan on their own.
This is a bad idea.... who wants a league of Jerry Jones et al. just buying up all the talent at any price to win.
No thanks.

That play changed the whole game.
I agree with your assessment. Run it in and score, Buffalo would of remained out of the game, we'd of won.

... I read somewhere the salary cap may be lifted.
That would suck for our cobbled together ownership. I'm really not interested in returning to an era where Jerry Jonesjust buys every good player for the Dallas Cowboys.
Damn disappointing this year has been, but that's how it goes.

That's easy. Root for the Pats to loose.
We win the division, New Orleans advances, we advance, we face them in the Superbowl and we kick their asses, winning the Superbowl AND protecting the '72 Dolphins record in the most awesome scenario ever

I don't think he said the S bomb.
If you listen he says "And the dolphins Finish it off"... I didn't hear him say a deliberate "s__t"....

I'm just amazed at how awesome the NFL has become.
It's a battle, week after week, and many teams have a shot at the playoffs right down to the last game of the season.
Any given Sunday, they say, well that describes today's NFL.
It's way more interesting this way. Even if your team isn't playing as well as it should and drops games, you're still in the hunt.
Course, we're on the e

Um.... No. That is something I wouldn't like to imagine at all.

Well the way I look at it--- any time you execute a play, be it misdirection, razzle-dazzle, "gimmicky", and it works, and you keep executing it, and it keeps working, then call it what you like--- it's for real.
I'd rather win all day long with "Gimmicky" and "trick" plays then lose all day long with "Conventional" and "Standard" plays.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
I agree. Huge, HUGE play. Not just for the game, but for the team and the season.
When you prove you can burn teams like that, then they have to fear it and defend it, and that opens up everything else, the dump off, the running plays, short underneath, etc etc
Fear the deep ball. We now have it. We're coming for you!

I admire the passion, but Aqua&Orange you should KNOW that's not how it it works.
Until Ginn steps up and starts playing at the level expected, people will not shut up (and rightly so.)
If Ginn never improves over what we have now, THEN HE IS A BUST, PERIOD.
All it takes for Fans to quit complaining and shut up is for Ginn to step it up. That's it.
In the meantime, if the screwu

Well, IMHO they only thing "dirty" about it was the hard helmet to helmet--- BUT I don't think that was intentional... I think it was just defensive play.... both men moving at speed and POW mass collision and the heads smacking together hard.
So, yes, it was helmet to helmet but I don't think it was intentional.

One of the best things about the team I saw during this game is despite the screwups, THEY NEVER GAVE UP. Right to the end.
The Dolphins of the last 10 years or so (or longer) would have given up after a couple of those turnovers, IMHO.
This team has heart. We lost, but yet the whole game I felt it was winnable and the team was trying. Even after something bad happened they came out a
