... I read somewhere the salary cap may be lifted.

That would suck for our cobbled together ownership. I'm really not interested in returning to an era where Jerry Jonesjust buys every good player for the Dallas Cowboys.

Damn disappointing this year has been, but that's how it goes.

if there is no salary cap the Cowboys, Redskins and Jets will buy and overspend for everyone

If next year remains an uncapped year, it will probably make free agency a big disappointment. Number one, if it remains uncapped, players will need 6 years of service time to become free agents. So, there will be 2 years worth of free agents who won't be eligible. And that includes Vincent Jackson, Brandon Marshall, Steve Breaston, etc. And if it remains uncapped, teams get 2 additional "franchise" tags to protect free agents.
