Adam Gase had his choice of Wentz or Goff, Sam Bradford or Eli Manning. He chose Ryan Tannehill. Don't think for a minute that the QB didn't weigh into the equation as he made his choice.
Wright or wrong, this regime is behind Tannehill.

I would pass on Smith. Same injury with nerve damage that ended Marcus Lattimore's career.
I think it's highly unlikely Elliott falls out of the top 10, let alone makes it to 13. There are only about 6 (non Q elite players in this draft and he is one of them. He would have to get passed Dallas, Baltimore, Philly, NYG, Chicago and possibly NOLA.
We will likely have to settle for a 3rd or 4t

I agree. Tannenbaum is too stupid to bring in an actual guard. I'm sure he's arrogant enough to think he can get a guard in the 3rd round again though.

Fiedler was not better by any stretch of the imagination. The team was better but his best season was 3290 yards, 19 tds and 18 ints. That's pathetic!
He was also a 24 year old rookie in 1995, was out of the league for two years after that and then sat the bench for two more years before he became a starter.
He was not a 24 year old rookie who was asked to start immediately and carry the t

Many of us were pretty excited last season to have a dominant defense and we all thought we would be pretty good. We weren't.
Was last years 6-10 team better on paper than the 2014 team that won 8 games or the 2013 team that won 8 games? On paper, yes but two wins is two wins. I think the more important comparison is Gase over Philbin. That's got to be worth 2 or 3 wins right there.
We don'

I would say the chances of that are still pretty high but the rookie will be the 3rd QB instead of a backup to RT.

There's way too much involved to be an either/or scenario. If you just want to talk about which player is better, that's one thing. If you are talking about which helps which team more, that's another issue completely...
Besides you left off my favorite player....Kiko Alonso.

2016 opponents:
Home: Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers
Away: Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, San Diego Chargers, LA Rams, Seattle Seahawks
The only Miami FA's we will play is Rishard Mathews for the Titans in a Miami

You're saying Shelby was a situational pass rusher last year?
To my knowledge, Shelby was the base end last year with Wake gradually moving into even more of a specialist role. I think that will be Wake's full time role his year.
Shelby played significant snaps even before Wake was injured. As a matter of fact, Shelby played more snaps than Wake prior to the injury.
I think he was part

And there's no risk with Cooper. He's do a 1.? Mil bonus on 1st week of camp or they can cut him with no dead hit.

Chris Johnson is visiting today. 31 in September, 814 yards and 3 tds for 4.2 ypc. His last 1k (1,077) yard season was in 2013. 4.5 ypc career average. I'm not excited.

Hey, if Elliott somehow falls to 13, I'd take him in a heartbeat. At that point it's about value and getting the BPA. He is twice the back Lamar Miller is and could change your entire offense. Tannehill needs a strong running game and the guy would probably catch 50-70 passes out of the backfield in AG's offense.

There are 7 backs with top 100 grades: Ezekiel Elliott, Derrick Henry, Devonte Booker, Kenneth Dixon, Alex Collins, Jordan Howard & Jonathan Williams.
CJ Anderson was undrafted. So was Arian Foster, Lamar Miller was a 4th round pick, Frank Gore 3rd round, Latavius Murray 6th, Devonta Freeman 4th round, Thomas Rawls UFA, Alfred Morris 6th, DeMarco Murray 3rd, Jeremy Langford 4th, Matt Jones

Yep.
They also signed Chris Long to take his place on 1 year deal.
tweeted that AZ may sign Evan Mathis or Geoff Schwartz. Two guys we should be bringing in...

4th for miller unless we sign a FA RB and it would be a little less. CJ did not count against us because of the RFA tender.

Chandler Jones to AZ for Jonathan Cooper & a 2nd round pick. Cooper was a disappointment in AZ. Slotted as a LG, got injured in rookie camp, moved to RG as sophomore, benched. 9 starts in 3 years.
Surprising. A lot of us were hoping for him in the draft a few years back.
Pats will have picks 60 & 61 at the end of round 2 now.

I don't think he matches Gase' offense from a receiving standpoint. Slim pickins at RB. Looks like Ajayi and a draft pick. Good thing we have the #8 to get Elliott....doh!
Tannenbaum just hasn't figured out how to work those RFA's and transition/franshise tags.
Jay Ajayi had 50 receptions for 535 yards and 4 TD's in senior year.

In all fairness, OV did have 11.5 sacks in his 2nd year. Cam Wake had 8.5 that year. He's still not a top 10 pass rusher.
He should still put up 10 sacks on that soon to be dominant line in NY.
Jonathan Hankins, Damian Williams at DT and JPP on the opposite end.

revisiting the topic of this thread....
I'm sure we will sign more free agents but I'm not optimistic about the future signings. Why?
Latest visits...
Chris Clemons: has not been a good player for two or three years. he's old.
Jason Jones: We need a run defender to team up with Wake. He is not it.
Brandon Weeden: Really?
So if the draft were tomorrow what would we need?

I find it very hard to disagree with anything in that article.
Well, maybe one thing. Calling Chris Grier a GM. He's was a puppet put in place so Tannenbaum could continue to play FF.
Departing from by original outburst, I do like Adam Gase the more I learn about him....or maybe I just like the fact that I don't have to watch Philbin walking around picking up trash around the facility.

Sam Bradford $17.5M after an injury riddled career, 19 td and 14 picks, It's actually $11M for 3 years. He's missed 17 games in 4 years. He's never thrown for 4k yards and never thrown more than 21 td's.
Brock Osweiler got $18M for 7 starts, 10 td and 6 picks. His contract is actually $12.3M for 3 years.
Kirk Cousins got franchised at 19.9M for one year fully guaranteed for 47 td's and 30 p
