They have until Tuesday to match or he's a Dolphin.

The one thing that may preclude them from signing it is the need to sign a QB and the fact that they have 8 mil in cap space... If you figure in the draft pool then... Cap Space (w/Top 51 & Projected Draft Pool) $1,951,926 I just looked that up and have no idea how they match the offer. Especially if they get Kaepernick.

I think you have to do both well. Traditionally it hasn't worked because the teams doing it were the bottom of the barrel teams with fly by night management. They just signed the wrong players and usually overspent for those players. Seattle certainly tapped into the the market a few years back with Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett and Tony McDaniel. Denver signed Aquib Talib, Peyton Manning

Mike Klis of 9 News Denver said "don't be surprised" if the Broncos match Miami's four-year, $18 million offer sheet for restricted free agent RB C.J. Anderson. Klis acknowledges that Denver "badly misread" Anderson's market, failing to give him a second-round tender that likely would have kept him in the Mile High City. To get him back, they'll have to pay a little extra.

They were bargain shopping this year. I didn't see ANY "splashy free agent" signings. Big names maybe but not huge price tags as in the past.

As Jimmy Johnson said, players fall through the cracks when you have too many changes in management. Those were Ireland guys so this regime had no allegiance to them. It's pretty sad when your management makes Jeff Ireland look good.

B.O. (lol) had 10 TD's and 6 picks for an 86.4 rating in 7 starts. Denver won the SB with 19 TD's and 23 picks at QB! Houston got to the playoffs with Brian Hoyer who had 19 TD and 7 picks for a 91.4 rating in 9 starts. As a team they had 3833 yards passing, 29 TD and 12 picks. That's how it goes when you have good coaching and when the FO finds talent around the QB.

And if Alonso reverts to 2014 form and is a PB MLB then ? That alone would make it worth it but add in Maxwell reverting to Seattle form and it was a steal. Especially if they were planning on taking the same guy at 8 that falls to us at 13. Everyone's draft board is different. Maybe they had top 10 rankings on 3 players and the next 10 carry 1b grades.... Just playing devils advocate

The only moves that I think could pay off big time are Kiki Alonso and Mario Williams but they are not without questions...as are ALL of the moves they made. Every player must prove last year was an anomaly. Williams: must prove he is not a locker room nightmare or a quitter. Maxwell: Must prove he is better in a scheme more suited to him. Alonso: Must prove his knee is 100% Bushrod:

If there is a silver lining in all this....we should get.... a 3rd round compensatory pick for OV in 2017 a 4th for Miller

It seems to me Miami has changed up philosophy but it's not playing the long game. They are playing to win now. Otherwise they wouldn't be signing older players in FA to start or plug holes. Mario Williams 31, Bushrod 32, I think the plan is to stop the big FA frenzy with HUGE contracts and use FA to sign older players who have two years of good production left and lower contract demands.
