Put your money where your mouth is.
If God reversed time, took you back to 1972, and offered you the following options:
A) I now change the 72 Dolphins regular season record from 14-0 to 8-6 BUT I GUARANTEE YOU THE SAME SUPERBOWL WIN OVER THE REDSKINS or
I guarantee you the regular season record of 14-0 but you'll have to take your chances with the playoffs.
Which would you choose?

Yeah but it is one thing for someone to throw with touch on a single occasion or a few in given time when he is thinking about it.
What I'm talking about is throwing WITH TOUCH in the appropriate circumstance WHEN IT COMES AS A MATTER OF SECOND NATURE.
To be even more specific, I'm talking about IS WILL HE DO IT ON ONE PLAY when the pressure is on, when your team is behind, when it is 3RD D

But I still think that if they had rested their players in that last game against the Giants, they would have won the SuperBowl.

Yes, my old and trusted friend. But who will also remember the 2007 Pats? My argument is that they did not win the Superbowl because they tried TOO HARD for the perfect season.

Of course,

are the teams that we need to win in order to get into the playoffs.
And oh yes, we need to beat the Steelers.

RESPONSE: Hmmmmm..... Let's see. Straub vs. Henne. Who played better today, Advantage Houston.
Let's see Running Backs today. Ricky and Crew vs. Moats and crew. Advantage Houston.

For Henne to throw with touch is either 1) an impossibility because all of his success from Pee Wee to College football has been his strong arm. Either you are strong armed and already have the touch (like Marino) or it is too late in the pros to develop it.
or 2) if you change it, then you might not like the outcome.
RATHER, I think the game announcers put their finger on it. HENNE NEEDS

I can't remember what game of the season we were when we beat the Bears. We were their only loss but it was certainly late in the season. We also lost to Dan Fouts and the San Diego chargers.
No they did not rest their starters against us but I don't think the situations were comparable. You have 2 near undefeated teams that seemed destined to meet in the SuperBowl. You hardly want to rest

RESPONSE: YOU PLAY TO BE THE 1985 BEARS (16-1) AND NOT TO BE THE 2007 PATRIOTS (18-1).
Now, class, who can tell me the difference.

I did not say it was not a legitimate call. It was. But it could have been ignored because it could not have possibly affected the play.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Why not? We beat them TWICE this year and it preserves the 72 legacy?
What do you get out of rooting for the Colts?
They were just as hated rivals of ours in the AFC East back in the mid 1970's when they had Bert Jones and used to 'OWN US.'

You are right about the Camarillo tackle by touch and the Fumble.
Both were blown calls with the Camarillo one being more sinister and the fumble being more incompetence.
I agree with you that the tripping call could have been not called. the guy was going to fall down anyway. No way would he have gotten to Henne and the ball was leaving Henne's hand when the trip occurred.
It was chic

first, I agree that we did not quit.
But I usually criticize the refs. First, yeah, they blew it on that quick whistle on that fumble. Amazing, at regular speed I had no question in my mind it was a fumble. He literally ran five yard with the ball although shielded from our camera view. Maybe the ref saw him bobble it.
But for the most part in the rest of the game, I thought the refs ki

I don't know who is responsible for play calling, Sparano or Henning.
but whoever is, is pitiful.

On the earlier 4th down at midfield, when the score was 27-10, we went for it.
We should not have. Even though they did not score, they took time off the clock and left us in a worse position than we would have been if we had punted and stopped them.
Inexplicably, later in the fourt

How many people on this board thought, with the coaching staff,
that that 3rd down play by Houston would be a pass, particularly with a back still in the backfield?
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Just when I was about to eat my words about coaching, instead of punting the ball and staying at 27-10 we give them a chance to go up 34-10.

We need to look at film of college players and not their reputations and draft the following
Defensive players who tackle by grasping the opponent and holding him in a death grip.....................................not those, who we have now, who believe you can get a man down by slapping him down.
I would be willing to bet all I own against your nickel that in the Texan film room this wee

Well, Dolphanmark,
Both the players and the coaches get credit for the games won.
Some players can get blame for games lost.
Although I defend Ginn, I remember in one game, he dropped a critical pass that could have sustained a drive.
I'm just saying that some people hold the coaches to be sacroscant and above reproach because of the conversion from the 1-15 season and there were a co
