I'm optimistic about the players (except we MUST get rid of Gabril Wilson) but I really don't think we will go anywhere with our playcalling. Gone are the days in the NFL when talent alone would dominate. The league is so balanced nowadays that on any given day the Detroit Lions could force either the Colts or the Saints into a close game. Given that reality, you just can't have the coachi

16660. Well, Anyway
regardless of the odds I will be rooting for every scenario for the Dolphins to make the playoffs. If they make the playoffs, of course I'm rooting for them. If they don't or if they lose along the way, I'm rooting for the Colts and Saints. If that's the SuperBowl, I'm rooting for the Saints because of Drew Brees (who I really wanted the Dolphins to draft). If the Saints don't make it

I checked. You're right, they went 15-1 in the regular season. I thought the 16 game season came on later. I'm surprised it has been around for 25 or so years.

Doug, I'm going to double check that. I don't think there was a 16 game season then.

At best we are talking about something that cannot be proved by science or math. But I'll tell you one thing. We did not GO ALL OUT in 1972 to win those last few games when we had the playoff's wrapped up. We rested our best players in the last game. Our goal was not to win the game. We could have cared less. Like I said, I was hoping we'd lose to get that inevitable loss out of our syste

Ole berkeley223, come out in the open again? How do you account for the fact that when that catch was made, albeit miraculous, the Giants were close enough to the Patriots so that the drive which continued won the game? Let me break it down for you. Sure, you could argue that the Giants won on a miracle catch. You could also ask WHY the New York Giants, a 10-6 team, A WILDCARD TEAM I BELI

The ironic and funny thing is to contrast the title of this thread with all the disagreement in the posts under it about just what the Wildcat is.

Yeah, Phinjim, I think my problem was that I was looking to see them in the 6th seed and they can only be a fifth seed.

Well, it's like a computer and if you can't trust it for one thing, how can we trust it when it says the method WE make the playoffs.

Broken? It refuses to put the Jets in the playoffs, even if you have them beating Cincy and Pittsburgh, Balt., Denver, Jax and Houston all lose. Of course they are 8-7 now and would be 9-7 and have the second best record excepting the Division champs.

There has been a concerted effort this year for the refs to NOT BLOW THE WHISTLE regardless of their opinion about fumbles until someone has been touched down on the field. The reason is to prevent PRECISELY what happened here. That is, where a BLOWN CALL is unreviewable because the whistle caused the players to stop going after it. These refs just didn't get the memo.

Of course, South...a perfect season INCLUDING A SUPERBOWL WIN would be chosen by everyone instead of a SuperBowl win in a season wherein you had regular losses. That goes without saying. But the point is, how much do you strive for the perfect season at the risk of not winning the SuperBowl. The 2007 Pats provide an excellent example. They so went out to beat the New York Giants on t

and if you don't know how it's done, I'll tell you. You take a couple of shots at the QB's knees. You play with a general roughness that shows you are more interested in hitting hard than making the play. Polian got the signal. Pull everybody out and let's mail it in. (And for you who want to make a comeback and say why don't they do it in the playoffs, it doesn't work in the playo

Ditto. I was angry and stewing at the beginning but rolling on the floor laughing by the end.
