Odenn - True, but I wish the fins could have gotten more. We essentially traded Marshall with Egnew who is going to be a real project if they want to make him an NFL tight end.

I wouldnt mind the BPA approach if we werent so thin at WR. Someone tell me why we traded Brandon Marshall for a cup of coffee?

Exactly Sam. If there is a glaring need it is WR. I would also like to see a TE at some point as well.

I still think they will be competitive in 2012.

The Colts just picked Allen even though they already took a TE in the second round. I hate the Colts.

Matt Ryan would have gotten killed behind whatever line the Dolphins would have fielded in 2008 (without Long). Remember how brutal the pass protection was under can cameron?

I think he is potential insurance but the goal is to build a monster offensive line. When was the last time we had an even above average o-line?

My scouting report says Martin is ready to start and at least be an effective pass protector.

Have the Dolphins had a QB (since Marino) that had this combination of measurables, raw talent and smarts? I think the answer to that question is no, therefore it was a reasonable pick at #8, even if he won't play for a while.

Exactly. I am glad someone pointed this out. What evidence is there he can play either of these positions?

Even if it did mean something in terms of draft position, there is *no way* I could root for the Jets over the Dolphins under any circumstances. It would go against every fiber in my being. However, if the outcome was a Jets win, getting a higher pick would have been a consolation prize I suppose.

Eddie Moore. I forgot about that abortion. IIRC, he was the first pick of the Dolphins that year. I am stunned Pornstache is allowed anywhere near an NFL facility after his stint with the Dolphins.

Everytime I am reminded that the dolphins took Jumar Fletcher over Drew Brees, I die a little bit inside. What really drives me nuts about that pick is that we already had Sam Madison and Patrick Surtain at the peak of their careers. What kind of pornstache wearing fool drafts a nickelback in the first round?

This is unquestionably a QB driven league. Without a premier QB, the chances of making the Superbowl decrease dramatically.

Treasure, Actually, I am not necessarily saying the Dolphins shouldn't trade up, I am genuinely curious what the historical record says about that strategy. And that should be balanced against the chances of finding our QB later than the mid-first round. Somewhere, I have a spread sheet of the draft position of all the probowl QBs taken since 1990. I will look for it when I get home.

Kind of a silly poll. Of course it was worth it. If the dolphins lost, it wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference in the draft. Indy, Cleveland, Jax and Washington ALL need QBs.

How often in the past has the strategy of trading multiple picks/players to get a QB at the very top of the draft paid off for a team? A related question...how often can franchise QBs be found from the mid 1st and onward?

Moore is a mediocrity. We need a QB in the first round. Period.

ESPN are a bunch of know nothing a-holes. Do you really think Cincinnati is going to beat Baltimore? A Baltimore win alone raises the Jets chances to at least 50%.

Titans are losing. Bengals are not going to beat Baltimore. Oakland may win, but Denver is going to lose. I would give the Jets about a 60-70% chance of getting into the playoffs.

If the Jets win this game, they will get into the playoffs and troll their way to the AFC Championship game again. You heard it here first.

Sparano is the best. You want to lose? Hes your man. He will find different ways to lose every week. We just desperately need the Colts to win ONE frigging game.

The two point was so utterly moronic, I have to think they are trying to lose on purpose. Ross probably gave the coaching staff their orders to stand down.
