We're drafting really smart dudes with upside who still need "WORK" to be totally NFL ready.

Can there be any doubt we're firmly in rebuilding mode?

My scouting report says Martin is ready to start and at least be an effective pass protector.

Probably right BUT the kid needs BULK and is not a finished product in the ideal sense.

But, even with work needed, it would be impossible to not be an upgrade over what we had last year.

Agree. Not saying "bad picks." But it's notable we're looking at dudes that project to be better once they fix certain aspects of their game. It seems IMMEDIATE impact is being discounted IMO.

I can promise you that a 1 armed Martin is better than Columbo.

IMO we are definitely looking at the future.

The real Columbo (the late Peter Falk) would have been better than Columbo.

Yeah, I don't know if people fully appreciate this, but we are not building for 2012. We are building for 2013 and more likely, 2014.

I still think they will be competitive in 2012.

I agree. David Garrard is going to be a nice upgrade at QB over Moore. And the defense will be sound. But, you will see some guys traded away as we reload.

Don't count out Moore. I have a feeling he'll beat out Garrard.

Would not shock me if Moore was traded tomorrow, or cut at a later date.

I doubt it very much. The WCO demands quick decisions, good footwork, and pocket awareness. Moore has not demonstrated any of those things. I could definitely see him traded to a team like KC to allow more practice time for Tannehill.

This team needs to free up cap space in order to sign Cam Wake to a long term deal. Or to bring in any more veteran free agents after the draft (think G Jake Scott, for one). There are only so many candidates that would free up money. Moore is one of them. You don't want Tannehill exclusively running the scout team. You want him getting reps in our system. Especially since he already knows it. You don't want him behind 2 guys. I believe Moore will be gone once they are comfortable with Garrard's health.
