This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Just like any team, the Dolphins have bandwagon fans, who can't jump off fast enough at the first sign of trouble. Hopefully they break an ankle or something in the process, and are unable to jump back on later.

Although McGwire didn't amount to anything as a pro, I think the guy you're thin

The most recent example of "unfairness" under the old OT system was the NFC Championship game, in which the Vikings lost the OT coin toss, New Orleans drove to the game-winning field goal, and the Vikings never got a chance on offense in the OT.
So who was one of the four teams to vote against the change? The Vikings.

Given that no one is saying the act was anything other than consensual, I wonder if his sister was also charged, since she had sex with her brother. Or maybe only the older person gets charged in a situation like this.

Yeah, well, you'd think they would have learned after the same thing happened to Leonard Little in 1998.
I hope Ronnie really is not guilty of anything other than a traffic violation, and not just because he's a Dolphins play

And there were other teams besides New Orleans that looked at him...

This is Ricky's first 1000-yard rushing season since 2003. For what it's worth, according to nfl.com, the six-year span is the longest an NFL player has ever gone between 1000-yard rushing seasons.

Oops! It's in New England -- probably a Jacksonville loss. But then if the Jags do win that game, Miami gets the division by winning out (conference-record tiebreaker).

Moss has quit on teams before; he did it toward the end in Minnesota and he dogged it for practically the whole time he was in Oakland. Say what you will about TO being a locker room cancer, and I certainly don't want the Dolphins to get within five time zones of signing him, but I don't think anyone has ever accused TO of dogging it during games.
If Moss were to become available, I suspect (

If Denver wins out, they get the first wild-card at 11-5. This is assuming that San Diego doesn't choke away their two-game division lead.
If Miami, Jacksonville, Baltimore, and the jests win out (possible, since none of them play each other) to finish 10-6, and assuming New England wins the division by winning out:
First you'd have to settle the division tie, which eliminates the jests.

...unless the punt's blocked. Given that the FG unit was messed up due to injuries, I wonder if the punting unit was similarly messed up, which might have made punting mo

You can pretty much guarantee that Rex will deny ever talking to the Post and will tack on something insulting about Bill Parcells.

I don't think Ryan chose to kick off; I believe he elected to defer the choice until the second half, which you can do now in the NFL. If he had said "we'll kick", the Dolphins would have had the choice to start the third period, and presumably would have taken the ball.

But they also have A.J. Feeley. Oh, right -- never mind.
Cincinnati also was interested in Vick and offered him a couple mill over two years. Hopefully somebody in the organization realized that signing him would have made the Bengals a bigger joke than they already are.

It's one year with an option. Vick gets something like $1.6 million this year, pro-rated if he has to serve a suspension. The option year is for $5 million.
Unless he plays a ton and the Eagles win the Super Bowl, there is no way in bleep the team will pick up the option.

I believe the NFL put in a rule specifically prohibiting coach-for-draft-pick trades a year or two after the Gruden deal happened.

It's a moot point now, but if the Dolphins and Colts would have finished tied for a wild-card spot, the first tiebreaker would have been head-to-head (they didn't play) and the second tiebreaker would have been conference record, not division record, as they're in different divisions.

Personally, I'm rooting AGAINST the jests, not FOR the bills. And yes, there is a difference.

Sparano should, but I would bet on Jeff Fisher winning it.

Buffalo isn't completely out of the running for the playoffs, although the scenario is so ridiculous that it's not really worth mentioning.
Oh what the heck -- if the Bills win out and the rest of the AFC East teams lose their remaining games, except for the Miami-Jests game ending in a tie, then Buffalo makes the playoffs by winning the AFC East.

Gad. Don't say that.
If it were last year, and we were wondering at 0-12 or whatever if Miami would win another game in our lifetimes, I'd be saying we should grab Plaxico. But the Dolphins are already much improved, goi
