Yikes! This is disturbing!

I don't think it will impact his football playing.
Not saying that I want him...but I do believe that a 16 year boy who is close to his 15 year old sister is capable of making a huge mistake. It is more common than we would like to believe.
If he has a clean record, and demonstrates the right ethics and values now...then let his put his past behind him and have a second shot at life.
I'm not saying this isn't disturbing, but in what state is it illegal for a 16-year-old to have sex with a 15-year-old. As far as I know, that isn't illegal anywhere and does NOT constitute sex-offender status. Something is weird with this story. Now, if he was 19-years-old, THEN that would be considered statutory rape.
This story reminds me of something that happened locally a few years back. This 19 year old kid got this 17 year old girl pregnant, the parents of the girl got pissy, called the cops, long story short, he got 10 years. My friends laugh when I ask women at bars for their ID.
HBO Real Sports a year or two ago had a story of some 18 year old who had sex witha 17 year old and he got a ton of prison time or something. Bryant Gumble was freaking out over it, I can't remember the details honestly
It happens more often than one would think. In the case I was referring to, the judge he got was a hanging judge, and just did it to get his name in the paper. As for the story this thread refers to, something is missing I believe, it doesn't sound right for some reason. Don't know what, but something is missing.

Wrong. I never said it was called statutory rape...just that it is illegal. It is called LEWD OR LASCIVIOUS BATTERY which is a felony for a person having relations with a person under the age of 16.
The question was "in what state is it illegal for a 16-year-old to have sex with a 15-year-old?"
LEWD OR LASCIVIOUS BATTERY: A person who:
(a) Engages in sexual activity with a person 12 years of age or older but less than 16 years of age;
The age of consent is 16 years old as long as the other is not over 24. Persons below the age of consent may not, by law, give consent.
The typical age of consent is 18.
Prior to 2007 It was still a felony if the girl is under 16 but due to new laws adopted in 07, the judge is allowed to use his discretion depending on the details of the case.
Given that no one is saying the act was anything other than consensual, I wonder if his sister was also charged, since she had sex with her brother. Or maybe only the older person gets charged in a situation like this.
