I like Daboll and Nolan. I think they both look a WHOLE lot better if players are healthy, in-shape and executing. Instead, they field a $40-million LB who's 23 lbs overweight and living on salad dressing...a WR who catches darn near everything thrown his way except TDs...CBs who run their mouths but not their wind sprints...a RT who should be waving a matador's cape as DEs blow by him to our Q

It makes me sick to think that a team would purposely lose. Somehow I'm able to justify a fan rooting for a team to lose for the long-term good of the team, but I can't stand the idea of players or an organization tanking. Blacksox Scandal... And, to me, it's a bit fishy that a team can go from a full decade of excellence to worst in history in one year - even with the Peyton thing. It's no

Sadly, I'm not 100% sure that we're sucking for Luck on purpose. I haven't watched an Indy game this year, so I don't know about them. However, Luck has said that he thinks that sucking for him is stupid. Would be poetic justice (due to what Eli Manning did to San Diego) if Luck told Indy he wouldn't play for them if they draft him #1. Yeah, I know the Colts got that from Elway already. If

Sadly, I think you are being generous. I think whoever is the coach/GM will keep Marshall just to see if they can straighten him out. I personally would keep Hartline. I don't know if you left out TE on purpose, but I'd keep Fasano. I think our OL doesn't allow for his talent to be turned to maximum value. He's not top-tier, but him as our TE is far from our biggest problem. I have more

Marshall is criticized so much because: - so much is expected of him exactly because of his talent - he has failed to make catches when the ball hits him in the hands in the end zone every single game (none of the other players you list have done that). It literally keeps 7 points off the board every single game this year. - he purposely invites attention (beast talk) Why should an en

I think he can tremendously influence whether a team chooses to draft him, but he can only truly dictate whether he plays for that team in the year in which he is drafted. St. Louis isn't a bad example, as they drafted QB #1 overall last year...they might actually try to trade out of the position for a king's ransom...and Luck could definitely influence that, as well.

Not a bad example, but I was thinking of developing into a quality starter at his position...not someone who simply can't cover TEs and doesn't hold onto enough interceptions. YB plays with good heart and is better than when he came into the league...so I guess he's a good example, but I'm not happy with his play the past couple of years.

More broadly, can anyone name a single player in the past decade (ok, last few years) on the Phins team that has developed significantly while with the team? It's bigger than Sean Smith, though he's a glaring example. Whether attitude or skill development, there's an overall issue with getting better. I was about to put Henne out there as the example (and his rating this year is lower than it

The weird thing is - and I'm not calling for or predicting this - I could see us routing the jests. They're in a 'kick em while they're down' position just about as much as we are. Weird, wild & crazy stuff happens on MNF when we play the jests.

I think there's a difference between talent and heart/pride that's showing on the field. I see a lot of players on D who definitely have talent but they're playing like they don't care enough. On D especially, I would argue that the talent is there. We were - until the last game against NE - a top 5 D with high ranks against run and pass last year. The talent isn't much different this year.

All of them would likely be dramatic improvements over what we have. Of the three, I probably like Cowher the least. If he has the right defensive mind on the other side of the ball and doesn't meddle, I think I like Chuckie best. I think he's the highest risk/reward guy of the three. I want an offensive mind with the 'wasta' to lead the team. Chuckie grew up developing QBs and - I guess I d

I'm not advocating Peterson as a decision maker by any means... However, Cowher was an assistant with KC with Schottenheimer (I think) who Peterson hired.

One thing the list tells me is that if Luck is a Manning/Aikman caliber QB (once-ish in a generation), you take him #1 overall. However, I think it points out just as loudly that it's the team you build around him. Aikman had the best OL of the era, best RB of the era (maybe ever...though I'm partial to Barry Sanders), HoF WR, very good D for a long time. His numbers weren't eye-popping and

Brees should have been a first rounder specifically because Jamar Fletcher shouldn't have been :-)

I was exceptionally disappointed in Henne not moving us 10 yards in 30+ seconds with a timeout to put us in position for a field goal. However, the routes (playcalling?) were incredibly weird. We didn't need to throw to the sidelines - could have used the middle of the field with the timeout. We didn't need to throw a long arching pass down the sideline. Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas are bo

Things that jumped out at me: - Colt McCoy puts a lot of pressure on a defense with his movement. Not a ton of scrambling for yards, but lateral movement and extending plays. - CLE loves the screen and short passes to RB/FB - Colts were able to run effectively even when Kerry Collins was struggling (100+ - CLE does use TE in the passing game, but not stretching like NE did against us -

That is how he seems to have scored the majority of his TDs with us. However, I have in my mind the (at least seemingly) many times when Henne throws to one side of Marshall and he simultaneously turns to the other. I'm thinking that they're leaving a good number of TDs on the field due to miscommunication. It's baffling to me because they look like they should be relatively easy pitch & c

Regarding Henne, I know it's 'what if', but I was prepared to see a puke performance when I just saw his stats. Instead, I saw: - an interception caused by DL hitting his arm as he threw - 4 passes tipped at the LOS (perhaps partly his fault but OL can help keep hands down) - a handful of critical dropped passes - a dropped TD - pressure on him pretty much the whole game I like his
