This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
RESPONSE: If your attitude as a new poster is that we should never criticize the Management, ownership or coaching staff, I have to wonder if you have ever been a part of ANY team chatboard before in ANY sport probably except pee wee and midget where you SHOULD be positive to support the kiddies.
And you're going to be snapping like a dog behind a fence who growls at every passer-by (the dog next door to me barks himself hoarse every two days or so) because we have 1) a lot of intelligent posters on this board and 2) a brain dead coaching staff and management.

RESPONSE: LOL. Did you intend to be diabolically clever? Did you intend to say that signing Matty Moore and having him and Henne as our only quarterbacks will ensure that we end up with a high draft choice next year meaning that we will go 2-14 or worse next year?
Hey, I think with Henne and Pouncey and some of the other draft picks, we will probably go 9-7 or better, but you have a funny way of looking at it.
You share, I gather, the view of berk and I that the management is idiotic but you just see that idiocy as a good thing given what you believe to be in our best long term interests with regards to next year's draft.

RESPONSE: But dolphaholic the rumor was that we were holding out for only giving away a 4th.
So if I have the choice of believing either that the Denver Broncos want to keep him on the team being clearly discontent and having Tebow looking over his shoulder or to believe the well tracked history of tom foolery in our organization of the past few years, I would believe the latter.
Dolphaholic, you are the funniest guy on this board. But did you listen to the NFL Network on Friday night in which they said something, offhandedly, like "unless you want to be cheap like Miami..." and the moderator said something like "let's stop being cruel."
Truth is Dolphaholic, our GMs are jokes so we might as well be would be GMs ourselves.
Jim Miller, on Sirius, suggested that Orton is likely the one who prevented the deal from happenning. Miller said that Orton knows he'll beat out Tebow, and he's due $9M from Denver. And in Miami, he'd have a tough time beating out Henne, and Miami would ask him to negotiate a long term deal that pays a lot less per season. Instead, he can prove his worth in Denver, and hit full free agency in 2012.
yes it is sounding more and more like Den would have taken even a 4th rounder for Orton, but Orton refused to redo his deal to facilitate a trade here and only wanted a long term deal for Kolb money. In which case he seems like a total D -bag, not the kind of guy I want as QB here. So F Orton.
SO here is what i have gotten, as to why the Orton deal finally blew up. We had negotiated Orton down a bit, we offered a 3rd rd pick, but then Kolb signed a huge long term deal. Ortons agent and Orton felt all along he is a better more proven QB then Kolb, so no way he should sign for any less, or he should play out his contract or be cut and a FA... Everyone agrees Kolb was way overpaid, and Orton is probably at least as good as Kolb so he has a point.... But if he wanted Kolbs deal, he should have worked hard to sell himself to Arizona...lol... SO basicly once Kolb signed and his contract set a precedence or value, it destroyed any potential deal we had going... SO we signed Moore... which coincidentally was who Denver wanted to sign to compete with Tebow if they traded or cut Orton. Once Moore was gone it forced Denver into keeping Orton and paying the price and creating problems internally for the franchise.... Ireland stuck it to Denver, he is still mad over the Marshall deal. His initial offer for Marshall was a 4th. Denver called Irelands bluff and waited a year, and got two seconds and got the best of Ireland. I think Ireland was playing hardball with these guys no matter what for a few reasons... Ross is closely watching his business, expense and hiring skills...Ireland sold Ross into his team, and he bought into it complete. Ireland is using Ross's passion for negotiating to draw him into his corner by including him in this stuff, like had to happen in Dallas with Jerry Jones.......Drama, Drama Drama, from what it sounds like...

Oh no mattyg69........And we better not lose a couple of game at the begginning of the season or you will really will go on a NEGATIVE rampage.....When i saw this post i KEP telling myself you must be related to MIA1.
Luck ain't that good, SamSam. I follow the Pac-10 and saw him reviewed all last draft season with Mallett and the other guys coming out this year. He ain't that good.

I saw him play a few times.....Just browsing through...Have to admit dont know much about him just going by what everybody is saying.
Why would they have him going number one overall then.
We need to take a chance on a high rated QB man...>At least once....
Sorry.... I don't follow the suck for luck theory.
I understand some have a high opinion of him but I have heard the same thing many times and the nfl ends up with Rick Mirer who is gonna be the next joe montana. Too many intangibles that can't be predicted IMO.
What I am wondering is...which Matt Moore are we gonna get?
I read an article from the NY Times that talked about the 2010 Carolina Panthers after reviewing the tape. It said neither QB could make pre snap reads. Not good since that was the knock on Henne.
It also said...to be fair to the qbs....they had no help from their wrs who were inexperienced and that Smith was uninspired.
