He's already there in the rubber room. He wants to "friend" me on facebook but I doubt the nursing staff will let him have too many activities even if I were on facebook.
Last, I would add I don't think the kid can incorporate coaching into his game. It's like he knows what to do but he's incapable of executing. That's a death blow in the NFL.
If he can somehow grow out of that we have a chance with him. But once again, there's no way I'd bet the franchises future on that happening...

what bothers me about henne is not that he's not a superstar at this point, but that he's REGRESSING to the point where the staff doesn't even trust him (and he doesn't apparently trust himself) to the throw the ball to an open receiver or to throw it into a defense playing pass on 3d and 8. I don't recall how Brees and Young played at the same point in their careers (Young was in the USFL) but I really doubt they ever looked as bad over a 2 game stretch as Henne is looking now.
I would turn your question around and say would you have given up on Akili Smith, Cade McNown, Tim Couch, Jamarcus Russel, etc etc in year 3? There are many more examples of QBs who did not have "it" by year 3 and were out of the league in 2 years than those who miraculously turned it around and became great players.
I say this as someone who, until recently, thought Henne could be a franchise QB.
the biggest issue with out offense is QB. If we have a good one, we are in the playoffs. If we have a great one, we are SB contenders. I'm not saying it will be easy to acquire a good/great one, or that we should dump henne while we look for that player (we shouldn't), or that henne has NO shot of ever becoming that player (but it's not looking good)---but we should try to upgrade in the offseason while we wait on that 10% chance Henne is the man.
If Henne really turns it around and we have a first round QB on the roster next year, hell we have some serious trade options for a change. If Henne stinks it up at least we've got a QB with upside/potential on the team. Right now we have neither.

BINGO! But I think 10% may be generous.

You mean we should actually have a plan?
I tend to agree. Draft 2 and call me in the spring.

If you go through your life not making decisions because there is NO GUARANTEE you’ll be 100% right – well, you better be ready for a really dull existence.
And once you have a “problem” not doing anything is not a solution.
I do believe this regime is trying to make the team better. And I do believe they are smart enough to identify “problems.” And I think they have a record of cutting their losses and moving on. The only question is if that philosophy is applied in an inconsistent manner?
Right now I see no evidence of that. If you don’t get the job done we’re NOT going to stand pat and hope for a miracle. Produce on the field or you’re gone.
This regime will flat out replace your ass. That’s one of their real strengths IMO. They don’t expect miracles. They expect results.
It isnt bad, but bringing in every quarterback out there for a look really does nothing because play in games is what matters not practice or the preseason.
I say we should draft a quarterback this year...just not in the first round. There we need to take a big, fast, shifty, and athletic WR to compliment Marshall and stop teams from double and triple covering him on every play...and did I mention this guy has to be fast.
Either that or a big, fast, shifty and athletic TE...Fasano is not good enough in the passing game.
In the third round we need a running back that has size, homerun ability, and speed...if we can get into the second round without giving up picks or star players...then we take this RB there and use our third on the TE.
QB can wait until rd 4...unless a can't miss guy falls to us. If that happens we take him regardless of what round it is and adjust the plan accordingly.

--prob wouldn't take a lot. I think they want to move on from him and they will probably draft a qb high. maybe he could be had for a 3d. not sure I want to do that though, he's not been any good since his knee injury
Henne is going to torch the Bills. The haters will still hate. I'm not saying he is good, but he is good enough to torch the Bills. You guys make him sound like Jay Fiedler
berkeley223, when you say "regress" I think you are mistaking the (Lord help me) regression for "inconsistency" (Mia1, please don't do the the jumping smileys).
Like I said, a 1st year (rookie) QB usually does not play at all. A second year QB makes mistakes and plays bad. A third year QB usually is good and bad. Sure Henne had some good games last year but if you thought that his performance was at that point and would straight-line upwards, you were mistaken./
Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, Vince Young. All of these were QBs with a lot better starting performances than later.
During the 4th year, you'll be able to tell. Not now. Expect inconsistency.
