(1) our defense is playing awesome. I think in large part due to Mike Nolan---we need to do whatever we can to hold onto him, but I am afraid he will end up as HC somewhere next year
(2) Henne SUCKS. Sorry there is no other way to put it. Did he even complete a pass in the 4th Q? He was throwing the ball into the stands because he was too afraid to get it near an open receiver. If the Jets scored and we needed a drive at the end to get into FG range to tie it, the chances of Henne making that happen are minus 100% I am thinking we run the wildcat so much just to get his ass off the field. No excuses here, I don't want to hear about injuries. An average QB makes at least 1 play that game.
(3) The jets offense is even worse than ours. But, we lucked out with Holmes drop. They made the kind of mistakes we usually make to lose the game.
(4) Our d-line depth is crazY! Langford, McDaniels, Solia, Starks, and add to the Odrick next year. We need to resign everyone and not do the usual move where we get rid of good players just because we already have good players at the position.
(5) Wake---D player of the year. Sign him long term this offseason!
(6) CBs played great. S Smith can't catch a cold but did at least get in position on a number of plays. Safetys playing well too.
(7) Next year we need to focus on offense, offense, offense!

Don't think for a second im knocking on mike nolan...Because he is a real good coach but................
Have anybody stopped for a moment and thought about...That we are playing this well on defense because of all the talent we have on D...And about the only injury we have on D is Odrick thats it.....
As opposed to the offense and the OL is a hot mess. We got practice squad players starting on the OL Injured WRs...Ronnie isnt the same henne hasnt develped as we thought he would...Maybe we need a different QBs coach??????????
Overall we have more talent on Defense IMO and less injuries and that makes it a lot easier on a coach.
With that said i think henning needs to go people are saying he will retire after this season. Im sick of the wildcat.
I think there’s just too much basic reality in your post to fly.
You say “Henne sucks” but are you considering the fact the Jets were deliberately trying to make him look bad? Couple that with the massive conspiracy on offense, including ALL the players (collective scabs that they are) AND the coaching staff (proven losers and has-beens) that are obviously trying to make Mr. Henne look awful.
It’s not right they call a pass play when the Jets are playing pass defense. And the running backs have no business being tackled for 3 or 4 yard gains. That just ain’t getting it done. And that Dolphin area 51 known as the “WildCat” is seriously messing with Mr. Henne’s mind. Seriously. Give the kid a legit chance. Let’s see how he’s doing after 10 years THEN we might consider another QB (maybe) in the 7th round of the 7th day.
Really. Who do these subversives think they’re fooling? Take that dude Sean Smith and cut him immediately because he’s a prime example of the conspiracy theory morphing onto the D side as well. No way would he give Henne a short field because he knows Mr. Henne would eat those yards up like starving parrotfish! No one wants to talk about that.
Even Wake is in on out. Yea, he forces a fumble but coincidentally (yea, right) the balls gets knocked into a Jet players hands. We all saw that Cameron and the video is being investigated by sources wondering is you’re indeed a US citizen.
I could go on but the truth is obvious even Bullwinkle sees it!

No doubt.

Agreed but it does helps when almost the entire Defense is healthy as opposed to the offense.
It's really simple. If Henne was healthy and surrounded by health we'd have prosperity as opposed to this offensive depression we're in.
Cut the taxes on our OL and give the WR’s a stimulus package and watch what happens when Henne has 30 seconds to throw and read his football for dummies book.
not sure why folks want to give up on Marshall. We've got a young legit #1 receiver. He's been injured and also hurt by subpar QB play. But he's a guy to build around on Offense, one of the few.
I'd start at McDonalds and then look at Home Depot.
Heck Aqua if any of us idiots knew the answer to that we'd be making some serious football cash.
But the best place to go fishing is in the draft so let's do it. But like I says before -- I'd ask Wake about those northern rock chuckers just in case there's one worth looken at.

This year I've watched crap on college so really I'm dumber than a box of rocks on this questions (but of course I do have a super inflated opinion capable of blocking out 3/4 of pi).
I like the theory of taking a QB every year (round 3 - 5) and sifting through the pile until you find a gold nugget. Obviously we need more immediate impact but I'd still put that plan in place.
Aqua, you don't need to have identified a future franchise QB and the method for the team to acquire him to be able to conclude that Henne is not the answer. Step one is to recognize the problem, step 2 is to solve it. We're just at step one now.

But I have always said that no QB can succeed behind a suspect O-line. In my opinion, due to him only being a 3rd year guy, showing flashes of good play (and bad play, I do realize), and the fact that guys like Drew Brees, Rich Gannon, Steve Young, and plenty other top QB's never materialized until *AFTER* year 3.
I say he needs 1 more year.
But, I do realize that we need to pursue a different QB. Thigpen is not a serious competition for Henne. The simple fact is, Henne is better. But, that is not saying much at this point.
We need a *SERIOUS* QB competition next season.

he's had TWO years! Actually 3, if you count learning behind Penny for a season, which does count for something. So lets say he's had 2.4 seasons. Last year we had a GOOD line, and this year, while the line hasn't been that good, it has been average if not a little above. We've got an All Pro LT. Henne has had a remarkable amount of time to throw at times.
I understand wanting/hoping/thinking he may turn it around, but stop making excused for him. He's had the chance to succeed and hasn't done so.

Personally I can agree with the spirit of this post 100%.
yo berkeley223 the odds are you're right IMO. Henne has pretty much proven he is NOT the answer. However, there is a possibility, however small, that his light will magically comes on before the sun burns out.
If that happens then great. But the expectation of that is unrealistic and the future of this team can NO LONGER be trusted to him alone.

outside of brees and maybe gannon, who? the vast majority of big time QBs showed that ability by now
