This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
According to numbers published today, Jake Long is the only Dolphin with a slim possibility of making the game. He is currently 3rd in voting for tackles behind Andrew Whitworth (WHO!? REALLY!?), and Michael Oher.
But, the real problem with this is (even though our team has been a little disappointing), a couple of guys have had Pro Bowl seasons and have easily been the best players at their respective positions in the entire league.
Cam Wake and Dan Carpenter are both 5th in voting for their respective positions behind guys that should not be ahead of them.
Thanks for posting this, A & O. That really puts in perspective the argument of those who say that "if we just had a better QB than Henne we would be a championship quality team."
(or is Henne the reason that no one on the OL, WR, or defensive secondary) is worthy of consideration for the pro-bowl.
Although I don't see how Cameron can lead the conference in sacks and not be in the Pro-Bowl.
first, the voting is only 1/3 of the decision re who goes to the pro bowl, so even if none of the phins won the vote they could still make it. second, the fact that we don't have a ton of players in the pro bowl proves nothing--as noted this is just a popularity contest, at this stage, anyway. finally, there's upside to not having lots of guys in the pro bowl---it only drives up their asking price!
the only players who deserve it this year are wake (for sure---and he will make it), long (mostly due to his pre-injury play), and MAYBE carpenter and, to a less extent, fields. No one else is worthy.

I'd argue Karlos Dansby and Vontae Davis should be there too.
LOL at myself.......I voted ten times since reading the post that probably no dolphins have a chance in the fan voting aspect of getting into the probowl. A little bias, probably, but I voted for Bess, Long, Wake, Dansby, Crowder, Davis,Bell, Carpenter, Fields and on a few I voted for all the Dolphins, except Clemons and Berger, just couldnt bring myself to do it for those guys....
Davis I don't think is there yet. Dansby has had a good year, and I am not sure who his competition at ILB is, but I don't think this season has been that amazing or anything. But maybe he makes it.

Same here....I too am suffering from PBC..Pro Bowl Constipation, as I also can't give a s--- about it.
I also can't remember the last time I watched one snap of that game.

I guess I don't care about the recognition either, Leon
The same way that I don't care when our team gets no "respect" from the presss. I just want us to win. If our team as a whole, or our best players, are underrated, I think it's actually a good thing. It's a motivator.
If anything, the pro bowl selections can be detrimental. Someone could get hurt playing the meaningless game, and if a player gets selected when his contract is up it gives him a bargaining chip to demand a higher salary.
