In the past I've said Jason Allen sucks. I've got to admit I'm wrong. This was a breakout game. Four years later he is finally playing like a first round pick.
Hopefully he doesn't start showing the mental lapses he has in the past. Certainly nothing today or Farve would have abused him.
I have to agree that Allen and Davis make what I thought was one of our weaker units very strong. A nice surprise to say the least.

A long time being next year. That is when Allen's contract is up.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut. BTW - how is Pat White doing with the Royals?
mia1, you will need to get 50 more right to make up for pat white. you were calling for us to take him in the 1st round before the draft.
as for allen, I don't remember you talking him up all that much. if anything, I think I talked him up more than anyone, including you
Now everyone loves Allen......funny. This is not the first game where he has had two INT. He had a good game but I will hold out on buying his jersey for now. Consistency makes good players. Let's see how he does going forward

Well, for one thing, his first 3 years were under 3 different coaching staffs, and they all kept moving him from safety to corner and back to safety. It's always been rumored that Allen couldn't fully grasp the mental aspects of playing safety. They've let him settle in as a boundary corner, which keeps his assignments pretty simple.
Lets get one thing straight he is not the next comming of Deion, but he is showing some solid coverage skills.
I don't have to make up for ..it, its not my fault that Pat White had a change of heart to say it nice, and wussy out to baseball, however we all found out where his heart it, and it sure wasnt football.
Wish he was tuff mentally, but oh well no sweat off my sac.
Ok...lets jump on the band wagon. Anyone here that says they knew JA was finally going to become a good corner....is full of crap. It's been two games so I will temper my enthusiasm but cheers to Jason....hell of a game!

This was his second big game. And that other 2 INT game wasn't as a CB. If Allen was making mistakes, the guy throwing the ball would have exploited those inconsistencies. Allen was all over his receiver, locked down. I think he finally deserves credit as a legit starting CB, and a good one at that.
I never claimed JA would turn into a really good player, but what I have said from day 1 is that we needed to play the guy....he has proven since his first year that he is obviously a bad practice player but plays better on game days. He just needs to get on the field on game day.
