I'm a Celtics fan and have been for many, many moons.

I hope the C's win vs Philly, but even if they do, they don't have much of a chance of advancing no matter who they play. They have injuries and age is upon them. They can't be playing these 7 game series at this stage in their careers.

They should have knocked off Philly in the 6th game; didn't do it, so they will now have problems, no matter how far they go.

The refs were so deep in the pocket of gamblers that they couldn't even see the ceiling anymore.

Not that it made a difference in the game last night, but they were calling technical fouls for grunts, groans, breathing in too quickly. WTF.

ETA: Make no mistake the C's needed no help in order to lose that game. I just thought it was weird the way that ref was throwing around technicals.

I know you were....but I thought I'd add the peculiarities of the officiating in the c's game.

Got an obligation to go to my buddy's daughter's recital tonight and will miss the Thunder game.

But the Spurs were clever. They probably saw something in the film and got the first six or so charging fouls on the Thunder legitimately.

They then cleverly knew that even if they were moving and jumped in front of a Thunder player, the refs would call an offensive foul anyway.

So late in the game whenever the Thunder would get the ball, all they had to do is jump in the way of the Thunder player running with the ball and an offensive foul would be called.

The Thunder did not have the sense to sense that and slow it up.

Now that's (game 3) more like it.

Thunder learned that no matter how many turnovers you create, you have to be able to score yourself.

Refs were definitely on Boston's side tonight. However, I don't understand why the Heat is afraid to take any 3 pointers.

The whole friggin game, they're afraid to shoot 3 pointers but then with 12 seconds left in the first overtime, trailing by two points, they take a Hail Mary 3 pointer with the clock running down to nothing. The same shot could have been, instead, a more makeable 2 pointer.

I want the Heat to win so if my Thunder goes down, they'll be there to kick the Arses (British pronunciation) of the Spurs.

I saw a few "gifts" for the C's from the refs, but also a couple bad calls that went the other way. Overall, you're right, calls went the C's way. Maybe it's compensation for the way that game went the other way a few days back in Miami. One of the things I hate the most about the NBA is the way they call fouls too often and DON'T call things like traveling (Lebron walked in from almost the three point line on at least one drive to the rim).

Re the three pointers, LeBron hit one towards the end of the game which the C's dared him to take, then at the buzzer to end OT Wade almost made a three...but I think the Heat's strategy was to draw maximum fouls, which succeeded in previous home games for them and even last night to a degree, with Pierce fouling out.

I agree...Magic Johnson commented that he could have drawn the foul on that last 3 pointer by leaning into the defender (dooling, I think), but on replay it looked like Dooling jumped away from Wade to prevent that. that would have been something though---three foul shots to decide the game.

Just have the Thunder kick the Spurs' collective blooming' arse. Problem solved. They can do it!

I agree with Magic on that. I wondered why he went for the shot instead of the contact foul and three free throws. It would have been the dumbest mistake on the part of the Celtics anyone has ever committed.

But if he didn't think he could get the contact, then he should have pulled back and passed the ball into the interior and tried to get the 2 points and a foul and if not that just the 2 point.

I'm pretty sure whether 3 points or 2 points, the Celts were told "whatever you do, don't foul."

So you don't agree that the defender jumped in a perpendicular direction to avoid contact? It was kind of hard to tell at the time.

THere was no time for that though, his shot was right at the buzzer. And he almost made it.

or 'whatever you do, don't allow the three'.

Can't wait for game 5!

I get what you're saying....but I don't think Coach Spoelstra (sp?) does. He's not such a great coach.

I agree. If they win a championship, I think it will be in spite of Spoelstra. He just fell into a great situation.

I think it will be a blowout for Miami. Getting beat by Indy twice-in-a-row woke them up for that series. I think they wake up BIG TIME tonight.

I've been a Celtics fan since Havlicek was still in his prime. Growing up in the Miami area there was no other pro team in the entire state of Florida back then. That's why I have no real attachment to the Heat, although I generally wish them no harm. Except in this series. Go Celtics!

They have a good chance...they came really close in Game 4, which went to OT in boston. Best chance for the Heat is to force a quick-paced game against the elderly Celtics.

Elderly with experience and a great coach goes a long way JC. you are seeing it with your own eyes.

They are beating us with a point guard with just one arm. Who is better than chalmers who has 2 arms.

As much as i hate to say it its the truth. Iam not blind.
