Injury excuse sort of makes sense.... Was top rated corner until week 7 of 2012 then tailed WAY off with negative grades over the next 12 weeks (2 season) and then missed 3 games then 3 negative games then was out for season. Maybe Hickey knows something....we'll see. if he's right we could have a pretty good secondary. let's see what he does at LB.

Strief and Smith! Shelley Smith's path is not unlike that of Evan Mathis, who is now the best LG in football. We had him on our roster but released him half way thought the 2008 season. He bounced around the league as a backup for about 7 years before he finally figured it out. Finally made the PB at age 32. I'm not saying he will be as good but he definitely has untapped potential. Clay was the 9th ranked TE last year in yards. 6th in receptions. He should only get better. If you want to argue that he is not a good enough blocker to be a complete TE then I would agree but Keller (and half the other receiving TE's) isn't going to fix that. Decker will be lucky to get 900 yards this year without Manning...IMO I had the same concerns about Albert and Delmas. The good news is when on the field he is rock solid in pass pro. And we can still find competition in the draft for the FS spot.
