Statistically speaking, Ayodele and Zach were very similar this year. However, Ayodele is 6 years younger and is much less likely to break down.

Ok - so he is older and failed to make an impact in a scheme very similar to what we run. Beyond that, there are medical concerns that the next big blow to his head could cause permanent harm. So why do you think it was a mistake for the Phins to cut him? I don't see the logic.

Those plays are very unlikely to be attempted in consecutive weeks.

Do you think that Zach not playing well could also be a result of age and deteriorating skills? Or do you attribute it solely to the scheme? I think age and skills are also a factor.

No surprise there. Favre will be gone too.

Brees threw 71 more passes this year than Marino did in his record setting season. I have to say that I was nervous when Brees dropped back with one second left on the clock and slung the ball about 30 yards down the field. Fortunately, the ball was out of reach of any receiver and fell to the ground.

I don't feel bad about Jason at all. He wanted out; he got out; he had a bad year; we got a good draft pick. That's all good. Regarding Zach, I hated to see him go. However considering his injury history, I can't second guess the decision to move on without him. It's also worth pointing out that Zach has been a complete non-factor for the last 3 weeks when the Cowboys needed him most.

I would like to think that he will stay; but the escape clause is very clear and it was included in his contract for a reason. My hope is that he will stay, but I believe he will want a lot more money.

Favre was a fantastic QB for many years. He has probably played too long; but the guy just loves to play football. I can't dislike him for that.

Westcoastphinfan - your post is a perfect summary of what we need to do to beat the Ravens.

I'm very glad we were able to trade JT before the season. We'll get the Skins 2nd round pick for him. If we had to trade JT now coming off a season like he had this year, his trade value would be next to nothing.

I said that Chad should win the MVP yesterday to some buddies. (I actually got to watch the Phins/Jets game with 5 other Pats haters. What a treat that was.) A few of them said that Manning would win the award this year, and I believe that he will; but I think Pennington deserves to win it. The Colts only won one more game than the Dolphins this year! That's it - just one. And Manning throw

The 8 Jets or Pats fans that voted in this poll must be terribly disappointed right now.

I'm not worried about Favre. If we stop Jones and Washington we will win.

Good coaching and well designed plays are a huge factor for Pennington. The TEs, WRs, RBs and the QB are not forced to improvise in this offense. Pennington makes his reads and delivers the ball to the open receiver, and someone is usually open. It's a formula that has worked for the Pats for years. The receivers have to run the correct routes and the QB has to make the correct read and deliv

Any updates on Crowder's status coming out of Miami?

Passes to our TE's are a staple of our offense - so they will be important. But honestly, I think our offense will be fine. The question I have is more about our defense. If the defense plays well this should be a win. That said, containing Jones and Washington are critical.

I agree. I think we will have another good draft. We'll also find it much easier to lure quality free agents our way in the coming offseason. Good players want to play for good teams.

Some random thoughts. 1. The Dolphins signed 33 year old LB Derek Smith. Is that an indication that Crowder will not be available on Sunday? If so, how much can we expect from Smith? I'm assuming Torbor will still get the start, but he wasn't exactly a world beater last week. 2. Who will we play next year? If (when?) we beat the Jets on Sunday, these will be our 2009 opponents - accor

It looks like we all agree that the Phins will at least make the playoffs. What an amazing turnaround this has been.

It's been a great year so far; but there is one thing all of us are aware of: There is only one way that our season ends with a win. That can only happen if we win the Super Bowl. In fact, of the 12 teams that enter the playoffs, only 1 will end their season with a win. How will our season end?

Goodell let Kaczur get away without a suspension. That tells me all I need to know about how he feels towards the Pats.

It would look like this: 1. Titans 2. Steelers 3. Dolphins (assuming we win next week) 4. Broncos/Chargers 5. Colts 6. Ravens (assuming they win next week) 1 and 2 get a bye. 3 plays 6, and 4 plays 5.
