I don't follow college football very much, but isn't the Pats offense entirely different from the offense Tebow runs currently? (Not just a little different, but completely different.) Also, I don't think friendships will impact who the Pats draft.

I can't imagine that we would ever draft a player for the specific purpose of running the wildcat. Nor can I imagine a Parcells team drafting a QB with the hope of converting him to a new position - unless, as noetic says, it is in the mid to late rounds.

The Ravens are becoming my second most hated team (after the Pats). They literally tried to break Chris Johnson in half in the first half of the game. I wonder if he was the guy they had a bounty on this week.

The refs totally whiffing on the delay of game against Flacco was the biggest play of that drive. Instead of a 5 yard penalty, they got a huge completion downfield to Heap.

I recently read something about the Pats versus the Chargers - as it pertains to making the playoffs this year. The Pats had a better record for the year; however the Chargers beat them head to head, got hosed out of a win against Denver, and they both had the same (5-3) record over the second half of the season. Also, the Chargers are hot right now. They are actually capable of more damage in

I'll be honest and I say that I hope Henne is ready next year, but I know that this organization does not want to take a step backwards in 2009 - nor should they. If Henne needs another year to watch and learn then that is what will happen. They won't make him the starter unless he is ready to win. In fact, Sparano has already said that Pennington will start next year.

If the Ravens beat the Titans in Tennessee and the Chargers beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh then the AFC Championship game would feature the Ravens against the Chargers in Sand Diego. Could it happen? Right now, the Ravens are good enough to beat anyone, regardless of the location. The Chargers are playing well on both sides of the ball and may have enough firepower to pull off the upset i

True, but to say he is not even half as productive as Bess or Camarillo is not true. Also, they have entirely different roles in the offense. The role filled by Bess and Camarillo plays to the strength of the QB. The role played by Ginn does not.

Ginn - 49 yards per game. .25 TDs per start. Bess - 61 yards per game. 0 TDs per start. (numbers are based on his starts only) Camarillo - 56 yards per game. .18 TDs per start. Overall, the numbers are fairly similar. Ginn has the distinct disadvantage of being the designated deep threat on a team that can't throw deep. Despite that fact, he usually draws double coverage when he goes

Chad is a good QB and a good field general, but he has limitations (as dolfanmark pointed out above). Can he win in the playoffs? Yes, he can; but the circumstances have to be right. If the rest of the team is good enough for our QB to basically manage the game and distribute short passes then Chad can do that. He'll make good decisions and manage the game as well as anyone. However, we can'

I'm not interested in trading insults. I just think your view of Ginn slants your assessment of the plays in question.

Aqua, it's a no-win argument with the Ginn haters. I'm done with this conversation.

"ginnsucks" as a user name. I guess we shouldn't expect objectivity.

Ginn is a good second year WR. His stats back that up. His catch percentage also backs that up. He caught 60% of the balls thrown to him this year. That number is right in line with the top WRs in the game. Add to that the fact that Ginn runs a lot of deep routes and his QB is not great at the deep ball, and I think he did very well this year.

The point is not where a player gets picked. The point is that it usually takes a few years for a WR to mature in the NFL.

Jerry Rice was playing across the Bay until very late in Brown's career? He had nothing to do with Brown's development.

It's tough to get separation from double coverage, regardless of where you were picked in the draft.

I would love to see Boldin with a fishy mammal on his helmet, however there are two problems: 1. He is not a FA this year. 2. He's a good bet to miss multiple games every year due to injury, which will limit how much anyone would offer in a trade.

Ok - I guess I understated the problem. The problem with our rush was that Flacco was always able to get rid of the ball even when we sent blitzers. We just didn't get their quick enough. Ideally, it's nice to get pressure and sacks without having to send half the team on the blitz.

The biggest needs I saw today were O line and pass rush. We had no holes for our RBs and generated no pass rush. I think the O line will improve with the return of Smiley and Thomas. That said, I think our biggest need that we have is to improve our pass rush. We just haven't been getting to the QB quick enough.

Ginn is one of many players who made us a lesser team than the Ravens -along with many others. I think having Camarillo, Bess and Ginn would have been nice. London made a couple of grabs; but we didn't even go to 3 WRs until we absolutely had to pass. That doesn't say much for our WR depth. I'm thinking Wilford won't be a Phin next year - regardless of the cap hit.

Sorry, I thought blaming Ginn was the gist of this whole thread. Silly me for blaming the QB for 4 interceptions. Fact is, we got smoked by a better team.

Sure do. Do you realize that bad throws are the primary reason for interceptions. Using the argument some are making about the big loss on the reverse (the ball touched his hands), the interceptions fall squarely on Pennington. They didn't even make it to Ginn's hands. Granted Ginn fell on the 2nd one, but he was double covered and the ball floated anyway. You're selectively blaming who you
