Can anyone explain to me why the media is so upset with Miami for "tanking"? When no one was upset that so many NBA teams tanked their seasons for so many years they had to institute the draft lottery to combat this practice.

Here is my perspective. If you look back on last season in our 7 wins we won each by 8 points or less (basically one score). In our 9 losses we lost 8 of 9 by more than 10 points. If we had any bad luck or one play went differently we could have lost every game last year. We were bad then. Now, take away a few good players and we become so bad everyone can see. It is no longer a difference of o

My two cents for what it is worth......You only really see anyone's true self when we go through adversity. I really believe that is what Coach Flores is trying to do. To change the culture you need to change the mindset. Any football player who goes out and plays his butt off on a bad football team and does not complain is a players I want on my team. Of course they need skill, but sometim

I loved the trade. Yes, it will hurt this year but essentially makes certain we can not mess up and win vary many games this year. Thus making a high draft pick a certainty. We kind have ripped the proverbial band-aid off. Tons of draft picks and lots of money to work with is the only way we could right this ship. And BTW.... someone posted sounds like we are doing things like the Pat

Christian Wilkins was the guy I wanted. Won the Academic Heisman and graduated in 2 1/2 years, plays multiple positions. Awesome pick!!

I really have not heard anything bad about Rosen in weeks. He even went to a charity softball game in Arizona after he was traded. I believe if he was just entering the draft this year he would have been the # 1 or #2 QB, so getting him for what we did was a great job of the front office. I was on the record last year as not wanting him, but that was because of his two concussions, not his pla

I understand. On the other board I have stated I don't really like the QBs in the draft this year, but would draft Tyree Jackson in the third and Easton Stick in the 7th. We do need QB's

The new mock by Justin Heir has us moving down with NY giants and Houston and selecting an offensive lineman. I think I already had suggested this scenario, and I don't paid to do this!!! LOL We did pass on Haskins, whom I am not sold on (Sorry treasure). But I really am not sold on any of the QBs this year. That's really the only reason I want to draft a QB next year. We need a QB, but n

I believe our new coaching staff will place an emphasis on character guys. It had already been stated that the players want to run thru walls for our new coach. I think we are headed in the right direction.

tsstamper: I agree with what you said. But this is the ultimate team sport. Plenty of decent (not HOF) QBs have won the Superbowl. It takes a team.... actually three teams, offense, defense, special teams.... to win the Super Bowl. Brady has won 6 SBs, but with any kind of bad luck would have only won the last one(5 of the six were won...1 in overtime, 1 on a stupid call by Pete Carroll, and

I am confused here, because since 2016 (when most of us wanted to move on to another QB the draft played out this way. 2016 drafted Larry Tunsil (next two QBs picked were Paxton Lynch and Christian Hackenburg) 2017 drafted Charles Harris (next two QB's picked were Deshone Kiser and Davis Webb) 2018 drafted Minkah Fitzpatrick (next two QBs picked were Lamar Jackson and Mason Rudolph) S

I just read that Christian Wilkins DT Clemson won the William V. Campbell Trophy, (aka the academic Heisman) for his work in the classroom and the community. He also earned his degree in 2 1/2 years. I know he had the issue with a banned substance during the bowl game, but the more I read about him if we stay at #13 I want him if he is available.

Ok lets get back to the subject at hand, trading in the draft. My latest wild trade back has miami trading back with NY Giants, Houston and Kansas City netting me 3 thirds, 1 fourth 3 fifths and 2 sevenths, for moving back from #13 to #29 (that is 9 extra picks for dropping down): My draft went like this: 29 Garrett Bradbury, C , NC State 48 Charles Omenihu, DL, Texas 78 Michael Deiter,

Just ran the numbers and made 3 trade backs in the first round down to #29 and picked up 8 possibly 9 draft picks this year. (3 in 3rd, 1 in 4th, 3 in 5th and 1 or 2 in 7th). Got Garrett Bradbury, C , NC State with the 29th pick

I agree with the disciplined part of that as well. I also maintain that foreign born players in sports are more mentally disciplined. I know we could play the example game forever, but my examples are Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu GinĂ³bili (the core of why San Antonio was great for many years) all are foreign born players. Jay Ajayi was born in Nigerian.

from charley casserly's article on NFl.com This "expert" has us trading back with NY Giants, they get Dwayne Haskins QB (they do this to jump above Washington at #15) we get Christian Wilkins, DT, CLemson, and probably three other picks in later rounds. I think he is reading my posts. lol

I love the price for this kid. Balance is perhaps the biggest attribute that a lineman can have. I know there is more to it but it is a huge positive for me.

Here are some more stats for you guys to chew on: The history of football proves you need to pick a QB in the top 6 picks in order to get a great QB. Where present HOF QB's were drafted(i am not including current QB's, and the numbers start in 1936): 12 in first six picks (5 in #1 spot) 0 in picks 7 - 10 2 in picks 11-20 1 in picks 21 - end of first round 2 in 2nd round 3 in 3rd 2

Trading out of the 1st round to get 3rd and 4th rounders is mathematically impossible. The highest value in the third round is 265 points and in the 4th its 88 points(based on NFL trade value chart). Our #13 pick is worth 1150 points. No team in the NFL has enough picks to make the trade even. My earlier proposed trade with the giants gave us 200 extra value points, which translated into

The guy was a Judo champion. So I am great with him, I am sure he will know how to use leverage and the other players momentum against them. I have never heard of him either, but he at least sounds like an interesting prospect.

Burns was #6 on that big board, I could have had the clemson edge rusher or DL, just went best available in position of need. As for giving anyone ammunition against anyone else, sorry dudes, am just putting my two sense in. If I agree or disagree with you its not personal. As for trading back I actually came up with a scenario when we would pick up 7 picks between rounds 2 and 5 with thre

I just played a draft simulator in which I traded our #13 pick to NY Giants for their #17, 95, 132 , and 143. These were my picks; #13 Traded to Giants - they picked Drew Lock, QB Missouri #17 Brian Burns, Edge, Florida State #48 Erik McCoy, C, Texas A&M #78 Andy Isabella, WR, UMASS #95 Tyree Jackson, QB, Buffalo #116 Gerald Willis, DL, Miami #132 Malik Grant, S, Marshall #143 Mic

I maintain that it's the offensive system and a QB that fits that system that makes a great QB. It's like putting a square peg in a round hole. We can draft the best QB available, but if he does not fit our system then he will not succeed.

Treasure..... I am glad that you and your sons had a great bonding moment with the Miracle in Miami. I enjoyed it as well. But also see the big picture, if we lost that game (or maybe the Bears overtime win) we would be picking 8th this year. We were essentially out of the playoff race by that time. Is beating New Wngland in the regular season your goals. I want to beat them in the playoffs

Another trade back scenerio: Trade #13 to the giants (they have 12 picks) for #17,95,132,143 1150 trade value points to a total of 1144. They get a better point value, i guess they could throw in one of their 7th round picks) Essentially moving back 4 spots and pick up an extra third, fourth and fifth round draft pick And we would not have to deal with New England .... unless they we
