You bring up a good point and he may very well wait until the Wells report is published. But I have think that Ross has been pre-disclosed by now as to what the report will say.

Not much activity going on in Davie today. Ross is doing his work off-site. Even the media have lost interest in further stakeouts. Ross is simply not in a hurry, for whatever reason. While you're waiting, if you haven't read the latest column by The Herald's Dan LeBatard, you should.

Right. I'm wondering if the Dolphins are better off going back to one guy with 100% accountability, as they last had when Jimmy Johnson was in charge. I don't trust Ireland but Don Shula and Steve Ross seem to trust Joe Philbin. Could Ross be leaning this way, especially with Shula advising him?

If Ireland gets fired, one possibility is that Brian Gaine is promoted. Anthony Hunt, Director of Pro Scouting, is another internal possibility IMO. Personally, I'd like to see the Dolphins go back to a weak GM model. All I've seen since Jimmy Johnson left are GMs and Head Coaches firing each other or pointing fingers at each other. Why not make one guy accountable?

I keep wondering if the spectre of the Wells report factors in here. Wells MUST have pre-disclosed Ross by now.

It's possible Ross is waiting for the Wells report, but I have to think he has been pre-disclosed already.

Pure speculation on my part... Ross is taking the weeekend to mull over what he heard last week. Decisions afterwards per league request so as not to overshadow the playoffs.

Day 6 since debacle vs Jets and no comment or action since. Ross's message to the fans seems clear: keep calm and carry on.

I don't see how Ross could keep Ireland and fire Philbin. As samsam3738 said above, no one decent would want the job. Options (IMO): 1) Both are fired. 2) Ireland fired, Philbin stays -- weak/no GM model (like NE) 3) Both stay.

Just a thought... The Dolphins brass is not at the Davie facility...but they could be meeting off-site somewhere this afternoon. I'm sure Ross doesn't want a spectacle, kinda like the one he created yesterday by landing that helicopter on the practice field. LOL, kinda screams out "Hey media people, here I am!!!"

Local media stakeout has returned to Davie. No sign of Ross yet, at least via his helicopter. dolphaholic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Chris, in your opinion, who's the best of the > local beat writers for accuracy and inside scoop? Great question. Accuracy/Inside Scoop: Barry Jackson (Herald)...he's not the "beat writer" per se

All, I would encourage you to treat today's blog entry by Armando Salguero with a grain of salt. He doesn't know what went down yesterday, and is engaging in mere speculation; he uses very clever language, like "What it seems might have happened". He doesn't know. No one does at the moment.

Ross's decision IMO will come down to trust, and who fits his vision for the team going forward from the recent embarrassments. It won't simply be "blame" for the last two losses.

Ross's helicopter left Davie around 6:30pm. Ross was seen by WPLG's Will Manso chatting up new BFF Matt Higgins before the copter lifted off. "No decisions" today is the word from PR. Ross met with front office (business) and football people during his 7 hours.

Again, just guesswork. Media will switch now for surveillance to phone work. Nothing in my e-mail from Dolphins PR.

No I hadn't seen this post. It's difficult to imagine how that Jordan-Martin fight could go down as described above, within the context of Philbin's practice regimen and with all the coaches present. That being said, what goes on in the trenches is nothing short of hand-to-hand combat. Respect is earned in just one way...making plays. If you don't carry your weight, especially as a starter

No word at all from Dolphins PR, aside from offering media some bottles of water and allowing them to use the restrooms and power outlets to charge laptops when needed. LOL

Cam Wake was spotted, as was Chris Clemons with a large wrap around his wrist. Doesn't mean others weren't present, just not observed entering/leaving.

There's a group of local media positioned across the street from the Dolphins' Davie training facility. They've been there all day, because their editors want them there. It's a sad spectacle IMO. Steve Ross's helicopter landed around 11am and hadn't left at of 4pm. Players and coaches have come and gone, without comment. Lots of rumors but NOTHING confirmed. Anyone who says they know what's

It seems unlikely to me that Ryan Tannehill would throw his college coach, and his OC the past two seasons, under the bus. They have a strong personal relationship that suggests he wouldn't do that. I don't buy it.
