so it sounds like miami missed out on two players they had rated higher than odrick. damn.

mccluster just got taken. i think the FO really liked him. a bad pick for KC tho. they have Jamaal Charles who does the same thing as dexter.

no way merling will go for that high of a pick. but if they can get, i agree with mikeo. DO IT.

as most of you know, before the draft gil brandt stated that he knew the player miami was eyeing and it would surprise some people. so does anyone know who that was? was it odrick? did that player get taken before miami drafted, thus the trade back? or did miami think this player would still be there when they drafted at 28 but he got taken? anyone know who the player was?

If merling is traded i expect a NT to be drafted at some point. depth is huge on d-line so they will have to replenish if they lose merling plus they could be looking to next year where Solai will be gone and JF probably retired.

Miami blew it. i dont understand why miami didnt sign him. no one else has the aptitude to play OLB except wake and he is still a question mark as a starter. does the FO expect to draft a starter in the draft but have no depth at the position. i dont blame JT at all, the FO treated him like trash.

too many holes to take dez. also what if dez busts, then it is a wasted pick on a position we dont really need. there is no reason to believe henne is going to be manning or brees so why would miami invest that many resources to become a team like that. one great wide out with some other good ones and a strong running game needs to be the blueprint unless henne shows he can lead an elite passi

nobody will pay big money to a 34 year old running back. he will get money like thomas jones or lt got this year which is not a huge amount. miami will pay him that and ricky doesnt want to leave anyway.

cooley is not in that league anyway and neither is winslow. gates, witten, davis, and gonzalez and maybe clark are the top tier tight ends. davis is on that tier because of his play last season. not saying he cant regress and drop out of that tier. but as of now he has to be considered in the top tier of tight ends. 13 td gets you in that tier without a doubt. but i agree it will be interes

so back to vernon. miami will definitely not make him the highest paid tight end ever. but if they offer close to what san fran offers then vernon will have a tough decision to make. this seems like the consensus. also, san fran could also extend him long before miami gets a crack at it.

yeah thats a good point. it would probably take a fat contract to land him too since he is considered one of the best TE's in the game. it would be awesome tho.

so i know this is in 2011 but its never to early to look ahead right. i have seen rumors that vernon davis would like to play in miami which would reunite him with his brother Vontae. also, i dont think he is against staying in san fran. Any legitimacy to this? anyone else heard anything?

eesti, have you ever watched marshall? he has great run after catch ability. reference that sick touchdown against dallas last season. he does have drops on occasion but not often. you dont catch over twenty balls in one game by dropping passes. i agree about ginn having the potential to be a nice complement as a deep threat but i just dont think the staff trusts him on the field at all. h

bell could be even more dominate if miami had a cover FS to help Bell in pass defense. a good FS would hide some of bell's deficiency in coverage and let Bell tackle and not shoulder as much of a burden in the passing game. this is more evidence to why miami should draft berry or thomas. the secondary would be a force instead of a weakness in a season or two with the development of the young p

you mean in the first. miami would trade down to take either wide out. i like all those players tho and i say any OLB that parcells has highest on his board i would be ok with. im really hoping for a FS in the first and a wideout in the second though.

agreed no need to risk it on this kid unless parcells really sees something there. although cody is finally showing a commitment to getting in shape, maybe he is putting it together and realizing what it takes to make it in the NFL. but he is still very risky.

i like his potential but wouldnt want him until the second round. so many questions remain and he is not very versatile at all. i still think he has a high bust rate.

i wouldnt be upset adding marshall to the team but i think its gonna be dfense all draft long and wide receiver will wait another year. it is the one position parcells does not put much emphasis on. also i think that no team will bite on marshalls first round tender and the broncos desperately want him off the team despite what they say publicly. either right before the draft or after the draf

in multiple articles i have read his pass defense is called into question and it seems he was one of the worst FS in pass coverage last season right on par with G Wilson. so that is probably why nobody wants him particularly the fins.

wilson used to be known for his "hitting" ability and rolle was not a big hitter. at this point i would settle for a guy back there that has range, makes play on the ball, and can play centerfield even if he isnt a good hitter. its not ideal but there is a huge hole at FS and getting a guy that can hit and cover is highly unlikely this offseason unless miami drafts a S in the first

i like those picks a lot. thomas and hughes in the first two rounds would be great. at nt we just need depth at this point cuz jf will be back at week 9 so if we take someone in the 4th and it doesnt work out then we will be ok down the stretch and can fix it next offseason. im not sure if cam thomas or cody will be much better than anyone in the 4th but they probably do have a higher ceiling.

the jets are not doing that. they are actually cutting their pay roll a bit. but anyway i dont mind not signing clark because he is old and he is only an average cover guy. why break the bank on someone your not completely sold on? i think parcells and co. would have liked him at the right price. and i think the draft can provide a S. and what about sean smith moving to FS like Antrel Rolle

im not sure morgan is best suited to a 3-4 and thomas wont go early second. he might work his way back into the middle to late second round and thats at best. other questions besides the foot exist. id rather see a safety in the first and lb, nt, or wr in the second. that said i really like thomas and would really like him on the roster next year

807. Re: WR
he might be. he is one of the wr that miami has looked into extensively at the combine but only if he falls to miami in the second

i agree i dont like that idea either. i wonder if odrick could fall to miami in the second though. that might be worth it if odrick could play NT. it would give the defense some versatility too.

i like those players at DT/NT and OLB/DE but i really dont think Dez is going to miami. if parcells wants a top receiver he will just trade for b marshall who will have a more immediate impact and probably be better in the long run.

i really think its gonna be a OLB because parcells loves to draft linebackers. Dansby and Crowder will play inside and parcells will draft what hopefully turns out to be a playmaker that can be a cornerstone for the dolphins for the next decade. that said i would rather have berry or thomas cuz i think there is ridiculous depth at linebacker in this draft and i think berry and thomas are head a
