I like plan two as well. Only trade up to draft a QB, if: one has fallen enough that it will not take the rest of the draft or a significant portion of next years draft to get him. AND the FO believes this guy will be the man and head the team for the next decade with at least the skills of a top ten QB. If these two things aren't there then I would build the rest of the team and wa

Good points. I understand the small similarity in the style of Satele and Kalil, but Kalil is much, much better than Satele ever will be. Kalil is not a mauler but he uses leverage, positioning, etc to make up for his lack of brute strength and leg drive. This makes him a good run blocker but not on the Nick Mangold level. Kalil has smarts and is very good at pass blocking. I would lo

They have different styles of play, that wasn't the comparison I was making. The culpepper comparison is apt in that we would have to give up at least a 2nd for Palmer just like Culpepper. Also, both had early success but big question marks about their ability later in their career, which made Culpepper tradeable and might make Palmer tradeable.

RB should be available. . . most likely Mark Ingram or Ryan Williams (VT). Center will definitely be available but im not sure if any are worthy of the first round. So a trade back to the late first would be possible if we wanted a Center. Some other WRs might be available as there are many talented ones in this years class: Justin Blackmon (OK St) Julio Jones (Bama) kid from Pitt but

There has been lots of talk on off season QBs but there are some high profile players that could help this off season that may be available in the FA market (assuming their current team does not resign them) RB: DeAngelo Williams (Carolina): Likelihood of being resigned: 50%, its a toss up. Carolina has Stewart, Goodson, and Sutton who have all played well this year or last year. Stewar

Doesn't Palmer remind you of someone. . . Culpepper perhaps? Injured his knee, never been the same since, good supporting cast but still can't produce, makes tons of bad decisions . . . Besides Cincy will only dump him if they draft a QB in the first round which is not a certainty. . . And i would imagine if they do that then Palmer will be traded for a 2nd rounder and some change. He just

he is awesome but he will be a top 5 pick. . . DJK on the other hand will land around the third round and I have watched him play multiple times. He could definitely help this offense.

don't mind the kitna idea but only for one season to push Henne. In that situation Henne would still be the starter with Kitna as insurance if Henne plays poorly. Not bad if we can't find anyone made of franchise QB material.

ok ok, i understand your skepticism and i don't want this to turn into a Kevin Kolb debate. There are not many options available to get a real upgrade at QB and I prefer Kolb over Palmer, Orton, and trading away our draft to get a high draft pick so we can nab a franchise QB (unless its somehow Luck or to a lesser extent Newton). I absolutely do not want Locker and I would only want Mallet if

i would say no 1st rounder for sure but, personally, I wouldn't mind giving up a 2nd for him. he has looked good in all his starts except the game he got a concussion in.

I agree that Henne will be on the roster and possibly the starting day QB but only if we are not in position to draft a QB and I strongly disagree with trading up, we don't have much to bargain with and we need picks to address other issues as well. No "sure thing" exists in the FA market or via trade. Palmer is garbage and wasting picks to provide him with a "fresh start"

First off, I have to say that I have really enjoyed the discussion on this board of late. Debate about Henne and the plan for the off season are very interesting and there has been some good insight on those things. Also, the talk has been civil for the most part. So, thanks for all that. Now, I pose the question of: Is the regression of the offense due to the poor performance (regressio

parcells definitely kept TO in line for the first season. after that its up for some debate i suppose. chilly obviously doesnt have control of the team or the locker room the way TS does. chilly cant keep favre in line and he obviously couldnt handle moss either. remember moss is playing for a contract and with his friend Pennington on the team and a more disciplined approach he might just

lions and rams are building for future and would not want to mess up their chemistry and locker rooms with moss. san fran is not going to the playoffs so moss will without a doubt cause problems especially with no one to throw him the ball. chargers are more likely but jackson is coming back fairly soon and rivers still has been putting up huge numbers with a bunch of receivers out so its un

I wish parcells was still here. I think we would be much more apt to try out moss with parcells to keep him in line. Remember Parcells was able to keep TO in line in Dallas.

i agree with the frustration of the db's not being able to catch the ball and that making those plays would take this defense to the next level. but i would say that they probably already practice catching the ball and they do tip drill in practice so it is probably more of a mental thing. they are very young so a lot is probably running through their head on every play making it harder to conc

we are 18th in the waiver wire claim order. so if we put in a claim and no one with a higher claim number (worse record) claims him then we get him for his 3.3 mil salary. if he is claimed by a team he does not wish to play for he can refuse to show but they have his rights at that point.

i agree about the homerun hitters. I just want one stud playmaker at running back (is a threat running and receiving), probably first rounder in the draft. I am fine with Fasano but would like to see a third or fourth rounder used on a young tight end with good athleticism and hands. I like our receivers and i think we need to resign bess then give moore, wallace, and hartline another year to

read what you just posted. he got beat "twice" on "five yard outs". do you honestly expect anyone but the premier corners in the league to be able to cover five yards outs and drags against 4.3 speed guys like harvin? if you do then thats ridiculous. and smith recovered and made the tackle after at least one of those plays. he also had blanket coverage on the last BIG Pla

thats crazy. they would be paying Jackson and Calvin Johnson huge money on top of the money they just paid Burleson. that would be really dumb

i agree, there is absolutely no way that they will bench Sanchez less than a quarter into the season. He would have to play horribly for five or six games and I mean "horribly" for them to bench him this season. And like dolphaholic said, Sanchez didnt play that bad. They handicapped him offensively with the extremely conservative play calling plus they had no run game to help him ou

your right leber is average. i think moving Marshall around and lining him up in different places will be key to creating mismatches. look for the backs to be busy helping chip block allen and edwards. mia1, i dont think shiancoe will cause to many problems, i mean that is why we got dansby. to cover good TE. dansby will do work on shiancoe and might even get a pick cuz favre will likely for

lots of good points however i disagree with their linebackers being mediocre. EJ Henderson is very good and Chad Greenway is one of the most underrated defensive players in the league. Their front seven is very very good and it will be a battle to run the ball and protect henne. henne will have to step up and throw the ball around a bit. Their secondary is suspect and it has to be exploited th

Mia1, not sure how you can say he only did ok. he was making plays all over the field and had a couple of really nice open field tackles. I am impressed, especially since he was such a question mark for the defense. now he must show consistency against better competition but as for today, he played very well.

just gotta get three wins in the first eight and i think we can win six or seven of the last eight. concerned right now but I have confidence in Nolan and thus have confidence in the defense. Also have confidence in the progression in Henne so I have confidence in the offense. these final cuts will no doubt have a huge impact and hopefully it turns out positive. no one can really know how

i would ease off the concern on the offensive play calling. they know they can run inside, they did it all year last year. they are probably trying out plays that they want to look at in a game situation. just trying different things and seeing how the defense reacts. play calling will change dramatically in the regular season. i agree on the minor concern over marshall and henne getting on

Crowder52, no one is saying that they are "ok" with the fairly lackluster performance against Atlanta. But since it is only preseason, I will reserve my judgement until the team performs in the regular season. It is the preseason and the alarm bells should not be going off for anyone.
