I am not buying were in a rebuilding mode.

We have alot of parts on defense and on offense. We need a consistant QB and one O lineman and one running back, and one speed wide receiver. These moves with some other tweaks of the roster, and we are right back in the thick of things next year. We are not that far away except we need a winner under our center not Henne or someone like Henne. We pick up a veteran, or take a QB in the draft we can be good again starting next year. This is how it is in the NFL with some changes we can make the playoffs next season.

Our offense is in rebuilding mode. New OC, RB, O-Linemen, TE, speed WR, QB...I call that rebuilding.

Offensively, yes. Overall, no.

If we move forward with a new rookie QB along with a new system and a few assorted parts = definitely rebuilding.

I believe we have some talent at WR. Deep speed needed…

OL = Jerry is unproven and nothing but “potential.” A minor disappoint so far and potentially a bust.

Long = post shoulder surgery will be somewhat of an unknown.

Carey = got to get his ass in shape and needs surgery as well.

Incognito = functional

Nate Garner = hope he recovers from surgery; he’s our best OL utility player.

The rest are all suspect IMO.

Bottom line on the OL = lots of questions and surgery (NOT a finished product).

TE = Fasano is a player. Need a big-league route runner / receiver.

RB = lots of questions and not a ton of answers. This regime has not done much but milk the cow at this position. Sheets is intriguing but obviously unproven.

QB = ?????????????

In summary – the offense is really a mess and has no identity and no direction. There’s a TON of work to do and… is there any evidence we’re up to the task?

Very questionable…

With a franchise QB, yes.

I am just being honest, if we had Matt Ryan this year....we would be 12-4.

Just the truth.

Obviously we all know (well, at least most of us) the QB position in the NFL is about 50% (+/- 5%) of the total equation.

This "fact" has only gotten more and more fundamentally entrenched in the NFL's business design - which creates a lot of disparity in the league. The QB "have not’s" always exceed the "have’s" by a wide margin.

Regretfully we've been on the wrong side of the equation for a long, long time. And the stupid thing is – it’s been totally obvious all along. So with regime after regime we can’t seem to come to grips with the basic reality of the league.

Personally I don’t really like the way the pro game has pandered to the ADD idiots who like pin-ball in lieu of hard nosed running and low scoring games. It really is a different game nowadays – and pretty soon the NFL will look like the arena league if things keep moving in that direction.

Yes we need a rebuilt o-line but going from 09 to 2010 shows how big a difference can be made in one season. Same thing from 07 to 08.

We had a top 5 o-line last year and the FO screwed it up in one way or another. Sure Smiley and Grove were high priced injury risks but they probably never should have been signed to begin with because the FO knew that going in.

Our starting line in 2011....

LT Long
LG Garner
C Incognito (resign)
RG ???? Berger
RT Carey

That is not a bad line. We just need a good RG so Carey doesn't have to overcompensate for poor guard play.

The part where trouble comes into paradise is no CBA and no FA until after the draft. That means no player trades during the draft to move up or down or whatever.

I look for teams this year to draft more for need in the draft than they ever have because there is no guarantee that they can fill the vacancies through FA or trades if they don't get the player they need in the draft.

I'm not even sure we can or will resign our own FA's without a CBA to set framework...probably not and that leaves us with many holes.

We lost 5 games on the final drive alone this season.

With a franchise QB, we would have been 12-4.

I agree on the halftime adjustments. I do.

But, Henne had the ball in his hands 5 times, again, 5 times to win the games....and the guy was 0-5....with like 5 INT's.

Also, I will say this.

Ghotirule, you and I agree on Sparano. But, the reason why I dont talk about Sparano, is that there is no point. He just signed an extension, the guy is coming back. For us, he is the guy...we are not upgrading from him for a while. So people can argue over him until the cows come home, but it does no good.

But, where we can upgrade is, OC, QB Coach, Line Coach, QB, RB, FB, LG, C, RG, RT, WR, and TE.

And we can find all those fixes through FA & the draft. Sparano is here to stay.

I think having a franchise QB solves alot of problems, and that Aqua is right. With the right QB we should of been at least 11-5. The QB that usually plays better in the game usually winds on the winning side. I would say that the better QB always has an advantage over the other team. Ala Peyton, Tom, Phillip just to name a few.

I agree as we have a stud left tackle, a stud slot receiverin Bess and the potential in Marshall. If Fasano, holds on to the ball better as he is capably of doing, he can be a great assett. Fasano is a great blocking TE especially. A couple players on the Oline, especially a Center and a stud guard on one side at least.
SOme fresh meat in the backfield to go along with Ronnie,
A new offensive system and a QB
The Defense, being coached by Nolan, why would we want to rebuild it? THere is so much young talent on the team, adding Odrick back to the team next year is like having another first rd pick coming to the team, since we played almost the whole season with out him.
Overall we need to make some moves in key spots, none other then the QB, but all of it is possible for the moves to be made in one offseason. QB play being the key factor

The most exciting part of this year was the drama of the 3 stooges and the epic chase across the nations for a HC –
only to find ***HIM*** back in Dolphinland!

I mean, WHO would have guessed that?

It was a thrilling, wild, crazy circus rodeo with clowns and lots of horse poop and donkey dung. But I’m so glad we’ll be “feeding the money” next year and riding the stallion of a new Franchise QB with arms and legs and footballs flying amazingly through the SFL air.

Call in the air force boys because the lunar module has landed

AS evidenced by the Jets win today we are only a hand full of players away from being back in the playoffs. We beat the Jets and match up pretty well with them. They have a QB and we don't. Plus we had a few more injuries than the had. We get a QB and we will win next year.

Sorry, Sanchoke is one name I wouldn't give him. He's had about the same rating and stats as Henne this year but the difference is that he comes through when needed. He plays better when things are on the line, while Henne plays worse. We need to try to unload Henne to some team that doesn't appreciate that this is probably a permanent quality.

Henne has a full year in the league on Sanchez. He had a full year to intern under Pennington and Sanchez still has many more big plays and 4th quarter comebacks.

Sanchez may never be Drew Brees or Peyton Manning but he is definitely better than Henne the robot and has shown more potential.

I don't watch the NY media but I have seen him play. He doesn't have the completion % that Henne does but he goes down field more often and doesn't check down every pass.

Sanchez has the ability to lead his team to score when it's needed.

Henne just throws interceptions and most of time they are in the red zone.
