As much as a sincerely hate to say this, it is totally unfair for Sanzhes when people put Chad Henne in the same sentence as him.

Sanchez is 4-1 in the playoffs, with all wins coming on the road. Pretty remarkable for a 3rd year QB.

Joe Flacco proved to hold his team back, Sanchez proved opposite.

Like I said before a capable QB and we could of been playing in the championship game instead of the Jets. The QB is 50% of a teams abilty to win. Once again We were failed by a QB who doesn't like to turn his back to the defense, and hates play action passing. We have been hamstrung too long by an incapable QB who can't read defenses when his back is turned. Hell he does not even like shot gun because he has to take his eyes off of the feild to catch the snap. What more proof do you need of Henne's incompetance. Our number one priority this offseason is to find by what ever means necessary a starting caliber QB.

We are and we aren't . So close, but yet so far.

Hopefully Edds & Odrick will improve the D

Offense needs a QB, OL RB's second TE and a WR with speed. Expect to see a lot of O in this draft and FA

maybe some of the WR's will be moved for faster alternatives. We have a lot of slower possession receivers

RE: Sitting on the sidelines with a clipboard does not really count for much IMHO. Quarterbacks need to play in order to get better. They also need to have a system, coaching, and being routinely placed in situations that serve to make them better. Henne has not had those luxuries so far. Yes, I agree with everyone who thinks Henne and Thigpen both must play better and that we should add a quarterback in this upcoming draft. But with the point of adding competition for Henne and Thigpen...after that the best player in the offseason should start...whomever that is.

RE: I'd argue that Sanchez has been in a much better situation, around better players and has been groomed better by his coaches. These things are what you see as his incresed potential. As far as actual play I'd say they are pretty equal...Henne has been handcuffed and largely crippled by his coaches IMHO.

RE: How much of Henne's issues are results of the system and the dictates of the coaches? Sanchez has the luxury of being in a system that takes more risks then we do...It's been reported that Henne is not allowed to audible, has to go to the primary reciever or check down, and the plays called by Henning have been terrible all year. Add to that inopertune BS like the wildcat when the offense is working, and an O-Line that had more holes than a colander, a non existant ruiing game, among many other issues and gaffes. Result, a struggling young quarterback, pissed off fans, and upset ownership.

We all know and pretty much agree what this team needs to do as far as adding players goes. Most of us agree as far as what the team needs to do coaching wise, but adding players via free agency is not going to happen this season because players can't be traded or signed even if they are released.

We have to do this completely through the draft...and even then we can't sign those players. We are in effect screwed next season because of the league not having a CBA.

The 2012 season is the soonest we can expect to see improvements. So that's two drafts and one free agency period away...unless the owners and the NFLPA get on the same page, and do it quickly.

I don't think we have 2 years before we are good. We will be good next year if we get a QB. How about Kyle Orton or Billy Volek until we can groom a future draft pick.

Sadly Henne played really terrible at times last year, and I think his confidence is shattered to the point of no return. It all depends on the QB position if we get one we will be very good next year.
