Well, they would have to install it a little faster then.

Except when, as you’ve indicated, he has talent to work with (seemingly).

Your observation seems true; coaches need talent to be successful. Duly noted. It makes so much sense now that I think about it, that probably even helped Lombardi and stuff right? Like, it probably helped Lombardi that he had that Starr guy. Wow. I get it. I think, although I’m getting confused again….

Favre used it forever, Chilly's used his combo of it.

He's getting the 3 mil regardless, if we paid him 1 mil the Vikes are on the hook for the other 2, the only way he makes more then 3 mil is if our salary was more then that, then the Vikes would be off the hook. So I ask again, if he has nothing to gain by putting in 16 hr days.....then why would he?

What's interesting is that even when he was the OC in Philly, he didn't call plays during the game.

Childress is the best OC candidate the phins have talked w/. In his yrs
as qb coach and OC in Philly the Eagles made 3 straight tips to the NFC championship and 1 Superbowl.

Favre is not a west coast QB? Minnesota didn't run the WC offense?

Huh?

Favre is in a class of his own. He is a FAVRE style qb, that made stuff happen out of nothing, and also alot of INT's lol.

It was a mixture. AP had 1800+ yards rushing.....it was a mixture of power football/WC offense.

Favre has played in a West Coast Offense for virtually his entire career. Mike Holmgren learned the offense under Bill Walsh himself in San Francisco. And Childress still runs the west coast offense in Minnesota. The OC is Darrell Bevell, who learned it while he was the QB coach in Green Bay's West Coast Offense.

But Brad Childress was under Barry Alvarez's system in Wisconsin much longer than he was in the WC system.

He was in Wisconsin a total of 8 years, 3 as the RB coach and 5 as the OC. He has been part of or in charge of west coast offenses in the NFL for the last 12 years. And I'd argue that the brand of ultra conservative football played in the Big 10 in the 1990s does not translate to the current NFL.

As for the scheme, I'm all for it. We can't run the ball. The west coast offense uses the short pass to open things up for the run. We need that. The offense uses a lot of short slants and crossing routes. Our two best receivers are at their best on short routes because they have no deep speed. And our QB ran a system with west coast offense principles at Michigan for 4 years.

I'd much rather have Childress than Chudzinski.

Again, he coached under Barry Alvarez longer and he is very familiar with different offensive styles.

I like it, he cant adapt. He is knowledgeable. His rushers rush, his passers pass, and he recievers catch.....ALL WELL!

BTW, if Childress didnt want to coach, then why would he accept an interview?

The Rooney rule only applies to Head Coaching candidates.

Childress is interviewing for the the Offensive Coordinator spot."

Phinsfan,

I think the point jimmy and myself are making is that some guys on here are talking about the Childress being owed 3 million dollars.

But, our point is, if he was satisfied with just being paid money, then he wouldnt interview for the job.

But, he obviously wants to coach again.
