Parcells regime QB misses

Parcells has himself to blame. Here are the quarterbacks his regime could have drafted, signed or traded for the past three years: Michael Vick (fourth-rated QB this year), Joe Flacco (sixth), Josh Freeman (seventh), Matt Cassell (eighth), Matt Ryan (11th), Kyle Orton (15th) and Jay Cutler (16th).

I like taking a flier on Pryor. He makes things happen with his legs. Micheal Vick could throw when he came out.

No on Pryor. He is a thug and turd and that is all we need.

Your list a very flawed, Ryan needs to be the only one on this list really, he's the one that we wiffed on, Flacco was supposed to be there in the 2nd rnd (he wasn't). I think the Bears over-payed for Cutler and Orton was part of the Cutler trade. I guess Cassell and Freeman you could make a case for, but Flacco, Orton & Cutler it's not really fair to complain about them.

The key point here is the decision making process that brought us to where we are now.

This regime has passed on EVERY other QB in 07 to pick Long. They have subsequently passed on a VERY EXTENSIVE LIST of QB’s since then. We can only conclude they were betting the entire future on Mr. Henne and didn’t see a “need” to add to our QB talent. Based on the results that decision was WRONG and the neglect of the position is effectively negligence. They simply risked TOO MUCH on Henne and with his failure they have totally exposed their incompetence.

Bottom line, if you can’t solve the QB puzzle you’re worthless in this league.

Well they passed on Henne with the 1st pick of the 2nd rnd, no? Doubt when they took Long they were thinking Henne at the end of rnd 2, I think they were hoping to get Flacco with the 33rd pick and that didn't pan out.

If that's "reality" they're more incompetent than I thought.

There’s was no way Flacco was going to slide like that.

The truth is the QB position has never been the priority it needs to be under this regime. It’s really that simple. The rest is an attempt at history revision…

I'm no draftnik but I thought he was slotted to there towards the end of rnd 1 or early rnd 2, I could be wrong on that.

Flacco's stock was rising all the way through the combine and pre-draft final grading.

Yea, it "would of been great" if he fell into our laps at the top of R2, but you cannot go into the draft hoping the dominos all fall your way. Beyond that, we don’t even know for sure these nitwits would have taken him.

In retrospect we had 2 #2's and more ammo as needed to move back into the first round and get Flacco. We didn't and the rest is just fantasy.

The proof of what this regime has ACTUALLY DONE at the QB position is right on our roster. There's no hiding the mess. It’s very obvious and tells the truth as to how they’ve handled the most important position on the team – like a stepchild.

That list wasn't mine I picked it up from somewhere

Remember Vick when he started?

Henne has a gun but is Jeff George part II

Henne is polar opposite that Jeff George.

Jeff George had an attitude.

Henne has a ...uhh....well, I am not sure what he has.

BNF - I agree. If they wanted Flacco, they could have had him. We'll never know how Flacco would have performed here, but my sense is that he would not have been as successful here as he has been in Baltimore because of the time, resources, commitment, faith, etc. Baltimore as an organization has dedicated to his development and success.

While we may not agree specifically about Henne's value right now, I do agree that they had a viable opportunity to get Flacco and they chose not to (whether by complacency, stubbornness or explicit rejection of the opportunity)
