Seems Cowher and Grudenwere plan A and B....now seems Harbaugh is plan C.

Don't know how accurate that is, but just guessing.

This makes me kind of worried, Gruden probably thinks this team is years away...

We're going to have to tank a season or two (not that we have a choice).

Rebuilding again...such an ugly word, but we are almost at the level of the Bills right now. We are missing so many parts.

Hope for a strike Dolphins Fans!

I'm hoping for a strike. Always have.
I felt the same way as you did, are these coaches thinking it's too big a problem to fix and don't want the headache even for 8 million? Geesh. I'd take the job lol regardless at that number.

Ross' continued insistence that Ireland is too valuable to release leads me to suspect that, in typical Miami Dolphins fashion, the next year will unfold as follows:

1) We retain both Ireland and Sparano.

2) Ireland makes an epic blunder during this year's draft.

3) Cowher inks a deal for another team.

4) Everything finally unravels during the season and we once again fall back to the bottom of the AFC East.

5) Ireland is fired. Sparano is fired. Carl Peterson is introduced as the new Dolphins GM.

6) The darkest stretch of Dolphins Football begins.

I dont think it has anything to do with Gruden think we are years away.

I think Gruden wanted *FULL* control and Ross wants Ireland.

Stop it. Get real. Sparano is ALREADY GONE.

He was done weeks ago -- and the rest is just window dressing.

Go back and read between the lines fellas.

I am not a big fan of Gruden anyways. He was given all the parts when he came to Tampa. As for Cowher, he had staying power and I would be 50/50 on him.

We have the parts there. We just need to bring in anyone who is willing to score more then 3 points in a game. Things we have good:

1. A good defense with starters returning and sophomore defenders are usually better and don't hit that sophomore slump like QBs.

2. A good kicker. Even a good drive can be stopped by one or two lucky plays on defense, so having a good kicker is a key and we have that.

3. We have speed, most of them will be back cause injuries were early in the year. So they should be healthy we start.

4. At least two good lineman. Filling the holes through FA should fix that.

We are weakest at RB and QB and the other three spots in the line. I feel Thigpen can get it done for us if we don't find a better replacement. Hell, Henne may even stop being a robot with the proper coaching but I doubt it.

Plus we need to put a young speedy receiver at returner. The are usually good at it, cause they are running for their lives to not get hit. Cobbs was not the answer.

I spotted a report where Chuckie wanted like 10mil for the gig.

I’ve heard the dude has some serious high balances on his MasterCard for custom fedoras, mink jackets and cashmere thongs.

I bet he wanted 10 Mill if Ireland stayed on board.

But I bet he would take somewhere in the 6-8 range if he could get total control of football operations.

I heard he's getting 8 mil from Tampa this year still, if he took another HC job they probably wouldn't have to pay that (might be wrong about that but pretty sure thats accurate) so asking for 10 mil sounds about right.

Why would Tampa want to rehire this guy, and at that price?

They just finished 10-6 and barely missed out on the playoffs.

Huh? He's still getting paid from his original contract, not rehire him

I think he means Tampa Bay still owes him from his old contract.
