If we finish 8-8 or worse Ross is going to clean house and bring in his own people. The man went on record and said he expected a Superbowl this year. This team is so far from that he will have embarassed himself by saying that statement, and heads are going to roll. Starting with Ireland and Sparano to name a few. I don't think our owner is going to give this regime another chance after the season we are about to have. He will bring in Carl Peterson and then all bets are off.
wouldn't bother me much if there were some changes in the coaching staff. The philosophy right now seems to be keep the game close and hope we can pull it out at the end.
That comes from the head coach on down. It needs to change and if it takes a new staff to do that, then so be it.

You know if I was the HC of this team we would have won yesterday.
I would have gone for it on 4th and two, and gone for the OBVIOU 2 point conversion to tie the game.
I would not allow Henning to be a conservative waist of offensive talent, and would allow a 5 wr set occasionaly, hell I would tell Nolan blitz like a MOFO on every third down.
However I am just a lone fan of a team in dire needs of a new HC, one who cares more about making the correct play calls rather than how many snaps each player has, and how many mental mistakes he made during practice.
Tony did not lose this game. Henne did not lose this game.
The Pittsburgh Steeler's defense won this game.
It is laughing at every phin's fan's face and most, (for some reason that I can not figure out), can not or will not just come clean with how football is played on the most basic level.
The Steeler's have a defense that we need. Although Rothlessness is one great QB - and that is a must in this "hollywood" league.
We must focus on the front 7 of the defense. Cry about refs all you want. The football godz know what the hell is going on.
Remember what it is like to have a defense that dominates? How great would it be if our run defense was respected like the Steelers.
Guys, I still think this years can be a great success, but we need more defensive help.
I would have gone for the 2 as well, but I do not blame Tony for his decision.
His "conservative" decisions on all of the FGs were one reason that we were still in the game as long as we were. In hind sight, I am gald he made his decisions the way he did.
I do also think Marshall needs help. He seems to be a one man show in the defensive secondary most of the time.
I'm not arguing against the FGs yes the approach in the red zone was crap, however it is a INEXCUSABLE OFFENSE to not try and tie the game with a two point conversion when your down by two that one point did two things for our team, Jack and Sh.t and Jack left town with a WIN.
If we would have went for it, and succeeded GUESS WHAT OVERTIME!!!!!!
If we didnt make it guess what WE STILL LOSE!!!!!.
All I'm saying is that single call cost us the chance to at least send it into overtime, and I will never let that stuff go, not untill he sends us into the playoffs and a possible SB win.

Agreed. Thank you. Finnally someone without some kind of learning disability that can see as clear as me and some others here.

You're questioning his coaching skills b/c he didn't go for a 2 pt conversion in the FIRST HALF??? C'mon get real! Who does that? This is the NFL not Madden football.
Sparano may be part of the problem here but let's make fair complaints about his inability to win big games.
If the Dolphins become the Flounder again then Ross will most likely clean house aggressively. At 8-8 or 9-7 I would expect he’d serve notice he expects staff changes etc. and Henning will be gone along with maybe a few others.
Beyond that, next year will be THE YEAR OF ACCOUNTABILITY for Ireland and Sparano. Keep in mind the team is progressing in general (as opposed to when this overhaul project started 3 years ago) and…
I still say this regime put ALL its eggs in Henne’s basket. And by passing on Ryan their fate is fully vested in Henne becoming (at least) a solid Pro. If he falters like a dieing quail then they deserve the axe.
And we need to keep in mind, Pennington falling into our laps in year1 was a “gift.” If that had not happened our record would have been (???) probably 4-5 wins. And the draft position we lost, in reality, only set this team back.
Yea, I know “winning is everything,” but in the NFL it’s not worth winning with a team full of holes because it only delays the cure…
Our #1 pick in the draft is an excellent LT but he can’t win games (i.e., make the difference) the way QB’s can. And our #2 pick in the draft seems on his way down due to a series of injuries. What do we have to show for being basement dwellers for those years? Did we get enough “compensation” to become a winning team? Or are we still in the recovery/rebuilding phase?
Is it realistic to expect this team to be challenging for a title at this point? And how good is our coaching staff? Among the best in the NFL or just mid-pack?
Ross has a lot to sift through before he does anything radical…

No one here, on NFL Network, in Miami, or anywhere noticed it or is talking about it b/c your dream world is the only place that that kind of thing happens.
Again, NO ONE goes for two in the first half. Just doesn't happen. That's why people aren't talking about it.
If Carl Peterson is brought into the Dolphins organization in any capacity whatsoever, I will simply stop cheering for this team and go find something else to do on Sundays.
That guy is effing incompetent and I certainly won't watch him run the Dolphins into the ground worse than Wannstedt did.

Heard Peterson on Sirius about 2 months ago, 1; he said he has no interest in working full time again and 2; He was the first person to hire Jeff Ireland for an NFL gig. Maybe niether one means anything but I found them both interesting.

Really you really wana argue against going for the tie.
You are actually defending that stupid non call to tie the game when your down by two points. lol Well I know why your not a HC either.
You can't make a solid argument to make me change my opinion on why it was a better choice to simple kick the extra point, instead of tieing the game.
Sorry but don't try it please just admit to yourself that it was stupid not to attempt it.
We lost by how many points? 1.
How many points did the extra point give us instead of the 2 point conversion, 1.
If we didnt make the 2 point conversion we would have lost by a whole 2 points instead of 1 point.
Hey your right though lets just not try to tie a game when only down by two. lol...

I've seen you tell people on other threads "you should be mad that we didn't go for two" Did anyone agree? Again...NOOOOOOOOOO.
You're alone on this. I'm not trying to get you to change your mind, just showing you that you're the ONLY one (outside of pee wee football) who believes in going for two in the first half. If just does not happen. Never seen it, never will.
I can't believe I'm even wasting my time arguing this point...
