I am pretty sure it is set up by REVERSE draft order and not won/loss record. I haven't changed it since I set up the league in July. And since nobody said nothing for the month+ leading up to the draft, it stayed that way.
Thought everyone knew. I will double check it is "reverse draft order" though and something didn't go wrong
yep, just checked. It's being done by reverse draft order. And once you use a waiver spot you go to the bottom of the list and everyone else moves up a spot.
can you set it going forward by worst record gets first dibs? reverse draft order doesn't really make much sense, since the last pick isn't even the worst pick to have in a snake draft. the default in the cbs league is worst record, I just assumed all leagues were like tat.
if I'm in the minority, obviously I'll do whatever works
wow. Hey, I'm not complaining b/c I did get jackson, but every league I've ever been in has started the waivers by reverse order and then once you use a waiver, you go to the bottom of the list.
Now, this change isn't a big deal for me because I've already used my waiver, but the guy that had the 2nd to the last pick in the draft might complain.
MikeO, I think before you make a change like that, you post a message on the website board (b/c the system emails it out to everyone I think) and then let people vote on it (within a certain time limit of course).
And like I said, ever league I've ever been in has been reverse order of the draft. So, no one said anything because most people were used to it that way.
Every league i've been in has been; reverse order for the first week then it goes to the standings after that, it's the farest system and you did the right thing Mike
before game 1, reverse draft order or whatever makes sense, but once we've played a game and have a w/l record and points total, draft order should no longer be relevent. if your team sucks, you should get first dibs at a FA. My point was that we had already played our first game but it was still set to reverse draft order, and people who were 1-0 and got pick of the litter over people who were 0-1.
Not sure why that is controversial and it doesn't even seem like anyone is arguing that *after* games have been played it should go by record (worst record gets first FA). Thanks for making the change MikeO, if people are against it then I won't complain at all if you change it back but it doesn't seem like that's the case.
I've been playing FF for at least 10 yrs, and it has always been W-L/points, that determines the waiver order after wk1.
Didn't even know there was any other method.
It's not a "ticky-tack" situation, it's actually the most fair way, and why the waiver period exists.
The "reverse order" method is lame and should never have been in used in the first place. We've never played that way in the past, that's why I didn't expect it this year.
If I sound a little bitter, it's because I had Ryan Grant!!!

Everybody plays in a "different" type of league. It's impossible to please everyone in a 14 team league

That is why you MUST have a strong draft!! This draft isn't for the weak, only the strong survive!!!!!! And we got 14 knowledgable people in this league. No room for weak-links!! Gotta be savy with your roster moves.

Wow... glad I didn't play you this week. I had a bad showing, but played against someone who performed worse... so I survived.. and sometimes, thats all you have to do!
