And the search for a field general continues...

Chad Henne sux, a second string at best, grocery bagger at worst.

We need a quarterback... oh, and some receivers too, since we gave one of the best receivers EVER to play in the NFL to the Pats and a decent one playing in KC.

On with the offseason chat, who we picking up?

Who the hell are you? Henne's fine. He's our future. The emotions have gotten to you, man.

Sore loser comment alert! Henne is looking better then most QB's have ever looked at this point in his carreer. It's his first year!

This guy is an idiot. I have been posting here for years and about 95% of his post are dog poop.

3 interceptions doesn't win you games, he's a cornerbacks wet dream.

RESPONSE: Miamidolp1, you are an old fan. Patience, patience. The guy is still a kid. Not everyone is Dan Marino who can take over after a few games in his rookie season and be hall of fame straight out.

Moreover, as I said in another post, the tempo the coaching set was more responsible for the frantic like pace in overtime that led him to feel there was a do or die situation on that last pass.

Nice job making it personal, jerk.

Anyway, seems were getting used to sub-performances and losing, and a comeback isn't a comeback if you still lose. I was saying to myself when we got the ball in overtime... "Chad, please don't throw a pick, you have 15 minutes on the clock, use them wisely", no sooner had I finished that thought then there he is again, picked off and we lose.

I guess some of you are getting used to it, and if we are even remotely close at the end, that's enough for you. Not for me, I like winners, and we're not doing it. We've stepped backwards since last year, and that was under Penny. Henne hasn't done anything to make me feel he is the next "Marino" or whatever you think he's going to be. He makes bad decisions... don't forget, that pass to Hartline, which was a good portion of his yards, was a botched interception thrown into double coverage.

Reminds me of the SNL skit, "Lowered Expectations".

Dude, if you're waiting for the next "Marino", then you better stop watching football right now.

Dude, Peyton Manning is better than Marino was... and I'm gonna gag saying this, but Tom Brady just might be too. So to say having a high caliber QB is impossible... just look around. Even a decent, non-interception throwing, smart playing QB would be cool...

right but neither manning nor brady were nearly as good as henne their first year as a starter

That's one of the stupidest things I've ever read on this board. That's all I have to say.

Henne is clearly the future of the Miami Dolphins...he'll do fine. Looked great this year for his first year starting in the NFL. I'm excited (finally)

OK, I'll give you that, guess we'll see what he does next year... I'm just sick of losing, if I was a Lions fan, I would have shot myself a long time ago, lol.

Good examples.....both of those guys sucked in their first year. Manning would have had you throwing up all day long!

Better than Marino......no one truly knows whos better than who......switch Peyton and Marino, Montana and Marino, Brady and Marino.....supporting cast plays a big role......personnally I think Manning and Brady benefit from these pass happy times. No great Bear defense, Doomsday, Steel Curtain, No Names......I would like to see Manning and Brady against them.....I dont think they would be the same.

To make a snap judgement on a first year QB, just shows how little about football this guy knows.

Didn't Brady win the super bowl in his first year starting?

it's close but i think the stats and SB win and all the regular season wins point to manning being the better QB over the course of his career. of course I grew up watching marino so I can't admit anyone being better. Let's just say if Marino had a running game and a halfway decent defense he'd have been clearly better than both manning and brady (still think he's better than brady no matter what).

Numbers don't lie

Marino 17 years 147-93-0 Comp:4967 Att:8358 Comp %:59.4 Yds:61361 TD's:420
Manning 12 years 117-59-0 Comp:4204 Att:6492 Comp %:64.8 Yds:49841 TD's:366

At that rate, give Manning 5 more years, and puleez, he's gonna tear it open. Don't get me wrong, I love Marino as much as anyone, but don't let your love for him distort the facts... Oh, and Peyton has a SB ring too.

Henne is fine he just needs to learn not to force the ball and to get it out of his hands a bit quicker...oh and to run when he has the chance if no one is open. That said, he is doing so much better than my expectations for him when he was first forced to play. He will be OK, he should develop quite a bit in the off season when he has a lot of time to work on those things...hopefully we'll be able to get him some help for next season at WR besides Hartline and Bess...while I like Camarillo we should upgrade him at the first opportunity.

Ginn has so much potential for so little output...he BADLY needs a mentor and someone to help him play the position in the NFL. He's got to get more physical and aggressive. If he does not turn the corner and start playing up to his potential by this upcoming pre-season then he should also be replaced...

Turner nothing but ??????????????’s Now that we are out of the playoffs he needs to get on the field in every remaining game.

Either way I think we HAVE to bring in a minimum of two big (200+ lb’s) fast (4.45 or better) guys to play WR this off season....draft them sign them as free agents I don't care, but they must be able to play immediately.

The only player we have at WR right now that looks like a definite keeper in the “long term” is Hartline. With more help Bess may be added to this list but right now he’s a stop-gap guy that we should have an eye on upgrading if possible.

I think so, but it's not like he was lighting it up. He had a great team surrounding him. Henne does not. Besides, my post was more towards Manning. There have been numorous QB's in history that have started out nearly as bad as Manning and have turned it around after a few years. His brother comes to mind. As does Aikman, Young & that old man on the Vikings! The point is, that you don't make stupid comments about a QB in his first year of starting. You have to give him time to develop and learn to not make those type of mistakes. Not to mention give him beter WR's to throw too.

Manning played at least 10 games a year, every year, in doors with no weather conditions. Plus, he has also played most of his career during the illegal contact rule. WR's could be mugged during Marinos days and he had absolutely no running game. Manning thrives off the play action and would not fair as well with out it. To say he is better than Marino, without looking at these facts, does not make much sense. How would Marino have faird on the same Colt team, playing indoors just about every week of the year?

You can't really talk about stats as much with the quarterback position as, say for example, the running back.

Sure the running back depends on blockers but the QB depends on blockers, runners, receivers and even the defense not to put him in the position of always having to pass in a do or die situation.

I'm sorry, stat geek. Quarterbacks are only ranked by their skills and not by stats. And on that score, Dan Marino on a team that only had him, no running game, no defense, just a couple of magic markers, he was the greatest of all time including my hero, Bob Grieses.
