I don't know,Tanny had a few good games, including one perfect QB rating and AFC player of the week against the Texans.

Your jumping the gun just a bit bro.

Don't forget that perfect passer rating game came with Tannehill not throwing a single pass farther than 5.5 yards beyond the LOS.

It was all quick slants and bubble screens that many Tannehill supports hate and think is restricting his play making ability. So in essence, the only time he's really had a great game passing wise it was because he was being handcuffed.

Hmmm..

I knew someone was going to bring that back up.

True, RT did complete 5 yarders that went for long gains/TDs. I've been watching games on TV and noticing just about every team is doing the same thing, but never hear "Yeah, but he only threw it 5 yards." It's only with RT.

Some seem to forget that along with those 5 yarders, he also connected on some down the field.

A QB takes what the defense gives him.

All you need to know about Tanny can be summed up with the play that turned off my TV.
Week 12...first possesion...second quarter...2nd down and 8 @ the 35...shotgun snap...defender coming "straight" up the middle...it's just the Fathead cut out and the sacker on my TV screen for what seems like forever due to the distance between them...crumpled...loss of 10...hit power...take dog out.

Listen folks, he's from Lubbock Texas. I'm from Lawton, Oklahoma. I mean, we're "home boys." When I first went to South Central L. A. in 1965, as a teenager, the folks used to call me "home boy" (and it didn't mean gangs in 1965) and "The Cowboy." "Home boy" meant, in L.A., you were "from down home where our parents came from. "Down South" or from "Texoma land." You guys don't think I've been praying for him to do well????

Give him a wide-open set of option plays or bench him.

EXACTLY. I have noticed the same thing quite a few times. Look, our OLine is no stone wall, everyone realizes that. But i'm sorry, if you're an NFL QB, especially one who is supposed to be 'mobile', you HAVE to be able to avoid a rusher...you just do. Even Marino could and Brady can, step up, step away to avoid the sack. Tannehill seems to freeze or not even see/sense the pressure. It's another in the long litany of things that make up the 'IT' of being an NFL QB that Tannehill seems to be missing.

I was watching NO and Carolina Sunday after our game. The Saint's line is a sieve. But Brees was able to avoid the rush a lot, often even against multiple rushers who came clean, only take 2 sacks, move his team, score when needed and keep a team with a losing record in the game against maybe the best team in the NFC at present right till the end. Thats what a good NFL QB can do.

Maybe more roll outs and let him move around some. He has athletic ability... maybe let him loose running every now and then. Maybe that will turn out to be his strongpoint.

His arm is decent, his accuracy is decent, his athletic ability is more than decent... try it out.

The most depressing thing about the offense to me is the PLAY CALLING!!! That short passing game is barely annoying to the defenses if you cant go long... plus having zero to limited running game.

Just my opinion.

kyle orton
matt flynn
trent green
aj feely
and
all the other trash we wanted to bring in here b/c we are so desperate for a QB we are delusional
no thanks
the only way we improve at QB in a way that matters if by some miracle RT takes 3 leaps forward or we stumble into a stud in the draft

So what you are saying is a pox on all of our houses, berk, right? Both we who are looking to bring in another quarterback are delusional and those who think RT ("BY SOME MIRACLE"winking smiley will take 3 leaps forward are equally delusional in your book, right?

yep we are pretty much screwed. we we need lightning to strike because whatever move we try to make will be wrong. so let's hope Tanny turns it around or we get another '83 stroke of luck and hope a marino falls into our laps.

How about MNF? Some of you regard drafting another quarterback this year even in LATER ROUNDS, as some kind of adultery against Ryan Tannehill.

Denver drafted Brock Osweiler. It was in recognition that you can't put all your eggs in the one quarterback basket.

You usually have your number one quarterback and another quarterback on the roster who competes with him and is a second 'first' best.

Denver had Brock Osweiler while having Peyton Manning.

In 1982, the Dolphins went to the SuperBowl with a young quarterback, David Woodley. The next year, SIX reputed great quarterbacks were available. With the last pick, Miami picked Dan Marino.

what if Tanny suffered a career ending injury?

We need a quarterback that is not just a back up but looking to the future or looking toward an unfortunate accident.

As I said in another post, Cody Kessler, USC.

Don't know, Chryen. I believe the majority of us advocate taking another QB in every draft, if necessary. Never know, we may strike gold, ala Tom Brady.
