This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
This team has a lot more needs than just QB. Secondary stinks. Linebackers stink. Guards stink. Better QB won't be a panacea for all of the team's problems. Just one more of many needs.
I know what you mean about 'the look' someone mentioned last night about how Marino used to look at receivers. If you've got the fire in your belly you see it in the eyes. Tannehill either looks smug or lost...
There is only so much butt slapping and tough talk is gonna accomplish...sooner or later you have to have talent and execution. We don't have much of either. If Campbell is serious there should be some repercussions this morning. That's how Philbin lost the team, after disgraceful performances, he just kept right on with the status quo. To change this culture you have to make it clear, don't do your job and your on the bench or on the curb.
IDK how thats gonna happen, even if we hit a streak (which seems unlikely given our remaining schedule) I don't see how we do better than 3rd in the division. But honestly, I'm seeing somewhere between 5-11 and 7-9 dead last in the division. Maybe they should move us to the AFC SOUTH lol...
Sam sam. If I was that upset as you seem , then you should take a break from the forum and the Miami Dolphins until it no longer upsets you that much. I did it for a while , it happens.
The season is far from over. We played the best Team in the NFL and we lost a great player due to injury. Shit happens. Its not a great situation but I have seen this team in much dire straights and still pull out a .500 season.
We all knew we were going to lose this game.
Tom Brady doesn't lose home divisional games on national TV ever!
The season was "over" when we started 1-3. Now it's just a fight to stay out of the cellar.
Dan Campbell deserves some benefit of the doubt, since it was a short week road game to NE...but there were still some questionable decisions, and game preparedness issues that still have the jury out for me on his head coaching ability.
NE is the one team they should spend every spare moment preparing for...24/7/365...from the front office on down. Until we build a team to beat them, we're going nowhere, as evidenced over the last 10 years.
Don't blame the loss on Dan Campbell. He's not been in the hot seat long enough to be blamed. Energizing the team is important; so is having leadership on the field. It's not at the QB position.
Fact is we lost to the best team in the NFL and to the best coaching staff as well--we have to admit that.
The only team we should build to beat are the Patriots. If we build to beat them all the others should fall into the win column.
Re: Tannehill--Tannehill isn't capable of dealing with matters when the team isn't clicking. He gets flustered. His leadership skills aren't there and his skill set is low when we are competing against a good team. I'm afraid he will never be the QB to lead us to 9 wins let alone 10, 11 or more a season. We have to face tough opponents during the season not all struggling teams like the Texans.
Lazor may be better than it appears because Tannehill isn't able to change a play call or make position changes when the opposing D is doing something unusual. I question his QB football IQ. He also doesn't read the playing field. He is limited. If the play call is a pass to the left, he will focus on that side. He will ignore the rest of the field. Surely if I can see it by watching re-plays opposing coaching must see it and prep their team for the inevitable.
I'm so frustrated with this team, the owner, the whole bunch, that I may need to stop watching the Dolphins games to avoid high blood pressure. Being frustrated every week can't be good for one's health.

Wow, Sam, you are flip flopping all over the place.
Granted, RT didn't have a very good game, but his receivers didn't help him, either, in quite a few instances. Did you see the long one to Kenny Stills that was dropped? Those two ints...are they both on RT? Even if the QB and WR were not on the same page, that has to be corrected. RT can't afford to throw picks, especially against a team like NE.
Quite a few of us posted over the last few days, what Miami cannot do in order for them to beat NE...they did those things.
Anyway, as I posted yesterday, I wasn't expecting much, but hoped our guys would play a good game - they didn't.

Let's face it, they played a GREAT team. There are only a few teams in the NFL that can match this team's skill level form coaching to players' performance. Miami sucks compared to this team, plain and simple
Yeah, 9 games left, throw in the towel!! Dolphins-hah, can't even win in Foxboro!! Wait, Foxboro? Where NE is 47-4 in night games. Like an all-time NFL record.
Shoot! I cannot believe I missed the opportunity to gamble on the Phins, at night, Thursday night (undefeated I believe) in Foxboro? I must have been thinking or something??
Unless I was given 100 to 1 odds I wouldn't have bet anything on that game. Even then I'd be hard pressed to have bet more than 20 bucks. Brady hadn't lost to an AFC east team in October since 2005, had never lost on Thursday, well I could go on but you get the point. I had only expected to see some fight in our team, not a win. And I did see things that give me hope for the future.

Who do you bench? Who do you put in instead? Where do you see talent lying in wait? Campbell already did all he could by putting in Turner and moving Jennings down the depth chart.
Maybe Chris Mccain can get some playing time now that he's been moved to DE and we lost Wake, but where else?

Yes, they are usually the most important thing responsible for whether it is a win or a loss but still.....
the other statistics are also important and looking at them alone, Tanny pretty much played Brady an even game. So as much as Brady dissected us, Tanny dissected the Pats.
Brady

What I saw was tannehill moving chains, make one bad throw and took one bad sack. The other INT was on Mathews. Defense held their own. We are closer to being a contender than the score of that game indicated, and I won't let pessimistic attitudes founded by a past filled with failure ruin my hopes for this rosters success in this season.
