It isn't that bad, he actual played 16 games 3 times in his six year career and 15 once..
His rookie year he missed games because he had a broken foot for the opening of the season. but still managed 11 games. Then he had an achilles tear in 2013 where he only played in 5 games.. Other then that he has only missed 1 game in the other 4 seasons...
The real question is how much has that achilles tear changed his game...

My problem with Crabtree is that he has put up good number exactly once in his career...for a guy that was billed as a sure thing coming out of college with a good size and speed combination. He has not lived up to his playmaking, electric and dynamic post draft billing.
I'm not against bringing him in on a one year, show me basis...but I still draft a WR in the first round this year to hedge my bets.
I DON'T place alot of faith in him being the next big thing...until he proves that he is.

No. It isn't that bad but Sam was comparing his injury history to Charles Clay's who has missed a lot fewer games. That was the point of that posting.
Also, we saw the role that the #2 outside receiver played in this offense. Hartline was not targeted much for whatever reason. Could have been his shortcomings or a product of the position. I do know Hartline was asked to run the 9 route more than any other route. I don't see Crabtree doing any better as a split end in that role.
Davante Parker...that's another story. From what I read, the Split end in this offense needs to be physical enough to beat the press, quick enough to get separation and also be able to get behind the defender. Hartline did not do it consistently enough.
In round 2 or later, guys like Devin Smith, Sammie Coates or Nelson Agholor may be better suited than Crabtree.

No doubt, Lazor's offense had a hard time spreading the ball around enough.. It seemed to focus on putting Wallace our #1 in the best position to make plays or consistently the primary, which limited Clay and Hartline's previous impact on the offense.. Hopefully without a true #1 Lazor will focus on involving more players in the offense as primary reads...

Crabtree, Gurley and Dorsett/Smith/Agholor/Hardy would set the offense up nicely.

I don't want to take a RB coming off a knee injury at 14 (gurly)
if we signed Crabtree, I'd still take Parker at 14 if he was there. We'd have a young cheap and dynamic receving core for years to come and could move on from that position for awhile. Spend the rest of the draft on OL and D and RB and call it a day
Stills
Landry
Crabtree
Parker
Cameron/Simms

I was against taking Gurley that high before I heard he may be ready for training camp in late July.
He is the best RB prospect since AP. Even if he is not ready (that does seem optimistic) he could come in around week 9 (or earlier) and give a huge spark for a playoff push. Most rookies take time to get inserted into the schemes we run but a RB is not as difficult to adapt.
Imagine getting another Adrian Peterson to spark the offense. take pressure off Tannehill and also improve the passing game, etc.
Chances are pretty high Parker is gone anyway.

Stevie Nicks may have been a decent WR, but I preferred her TE
Apparently we r the only team interested in Crabtree. If we sign him it better be for little money. The concern is he's not the same guy since his Achilles injury. That would seem to be a hard one for a wr to overcome
I agree nicks may be better. Who else out there?

I'd give him 1 year 3m with 4m in performance bonuses. Or I'd give him 1 year 5m, no bonuses.
Tell him take it or leave it by Sunday, and I'd have Nate Washington in here tomorrow.

Grimes came back from an achilles tear, probably just as hard on CB to over come as a WR...
Nicks is out there but he has some injury concern issues as well..
