I also think more players could rise like like Eric Kendricks (top 15) and Stephone Anthony (bottom of 1st).

Kendricks brother had a great year as an 3-4 ILB in Philly last year. He was a 2nd round pick.

Miller is a very solid back. I would not waste a pick on a RB early.

Lamar Miller is a solid back and he's also in the last year of his rookie deal. Are you willing to pay him 5+ mill a year as a starter for the next 4 or 5 years?

If not, then drafting a RB is a HUGE priority.

The fact we haven't even sniffed a RB in FA, gives me a feeling we might be going in that direction early... I would rather we draft a defensive player, like CB, LB or DT... But if none of the top guys are available or a top 3 WR then I have feeling we might go after one of the top 2 RBs...

Doesn't Hickey fancy himself a RB whisperer? I think we'll take one but I'll bet it's 4th rnd or later

I have no problem if they want to take Gurley early. If they don't, then I'd wait. There will be a RB to be had later in the draft who can fill our power back need. Might even get a gem late. Good draft for RB.

I'm cool with DT at 14 if its shelton or brown.

I could live with an OLB like Gregory or Beasley.

I wouldn't complain about a pass rusher like Alvin Dupree at 14 either. Going to need a replacement for wake after this season and taking him forces Jordan to OLB which might not be a bad thing.

Barring a trade down of 12-15 spots, I'm not taking a CB in the first round of this draft.

I'd rather let Taylor and Davis fight over the #2 spot. maybe draft one later but there's nobody in the first that gets me excited.

If we stay at 14 its one of the top 3 Wr's, Gurley, either DT, one of the OLB's or a pass rusher for me.

I think RB should be our priority in round 2. We do need a power back to allow us to extend drives. Ball control is going to be very important to us. I think 1 of these 3 will be available at 2.

Coleman Indiani- I really like this guy had 200+ yards against Iowa and Ohio state another good game agains Missouri.

Ajayi Boise St - not as much power as Coleman but nice.

Yeldon but I would grab Duke Johnson ahead of him.

I would wait until the 4th to grab a WR 1 of these 2 guys should be there and I like both as much as I do Parker.

Mayle WA st nice size good hands. He was getting notice and rising a broken thumb held him back a bit at the combine might keep him in the 4th round.

Harris Fresno St - I think this guy is solid check him out on youtube. Someone describe him as qb friendly. Finds the open holes ine the zone, no problem running crossing patterns just what Tanne needs.

Also check out this TE from UMASS, Sifrin. Raw 27 years old. Some teams probably will not touch but I would roll the dice in the 6th for him.

I like that and it's likely that one of those guys will be there. my preference is WR unless a top D player or the Iowa OL falls to us. I don't want to take an injured RB at 14. That's just asking for trouble and a reach in this day and age

I think you stick with miller and williams. Williams showed plenty last year to get a shot and they have gillislee coming back.

We only have 2 picks in the top 100. I'd hate to see one used on an injured RB.

Wait until june and get a vet off the scrap heap. I'd resign Moreno if he's healthy. He gave our team a little swagger and played at a different level albeit for 1 game. We can get him on the cheap.

I've also seen where there is going to be a run on edge rushers, so as you said above, Joe, talent will be coming Miami's way.

I wonder what a comparison of Moreno's injury and Gurley's injury would show?

I can see the reasoning of drafting a top RB early, I still don't like it but if a gun was placed to my head Gordon > Gurley.

Not really, we have Misi at ILB, Jenkins at WS, and McCain and Jordan at SS and Sheppard who can play all three.

Agreed, that we need to add another LB in the draft but with Misi and Sheppard we are Ok in the middle. We have vesatility with the potential starters in the group...just not much in the way of depth.

Right now the LB group most likely looks like this,

WLB - Jenkins
MLB - Misi, Sheppard
SLB - Jordan, McCain

That lineup might work playing behind Suh & company. Pass coverage are amongst Jordan & Jenkin's strong points and Sheppard has stared at mlb before. We still have Misi or Sheppard, Tripp and Trusnick off the bench.

Trusnik is unsigned. Frankly, I would rather have him over Sheppard.

SLB in this defense has always left the field in passing situations. Unless they plan on changing that, what is the great benefit of having Jordan or McCain as two down run stuffers? What am I missing here?

Could it have been out of necessity since our previous SLB's could not actually cover TE's??? Wheeler/Misi?

Wheeler only logged 361 snaps at SLB last year. Jenkins had 912 at WLB.

Misi only had 480 snaps at SLB in 2013. Wheeler had 1,054 at WLB.

They would have to design a different nickle package if they want to get more out of Jordan.

Sheppard edges Trusnick in talent. I like Trusnick thought he was on the roster. Since he is not (right now) Sheppard edges Trusnick.

Our previous slbs did not offer much in coverae.

Yes they would have to adjust the defense to get more out of Jordan. You would think they would have done that since they have invested extra picks to acquire him. You would think.

Jenkins was known for his coverage abilities at UF. he should be 100% recovered from his 2013 suregry and familiar w/ the D. He should be a break out player. It seems that staff is still not sure where they will play Jordan. That is unfortunate. Like Thomas the guy should have a dedicated position.

As I'm sure you know Holic, no one knows what the FO is thinking as that info is kept close to the vest info. Barry Jackson has about as much inside info as we do, IMO.

I don't see it with Perriman. This staff likes receivers with good hands and refined route runners. He is known for drops and sloppy routes. He met with the Dolphins but that really means nothing for the first round, IMO. Could just be due diligence for the 2nd...even though he is likely gone after the ridiculous 40 time.

I would be ok with Collins if Parker is gone but I would trade down and choose from whoever remains from Collins, Scherff, Humphries, etc. There are a bunch of LG candidates that could likely start day one.

As a matter of fact, I would go after a guy who can also play tackle. Ja'Waun James was progressing nicely last year before he got moved but he still struggled at times. He will be a good RT but instead of drafting a guard, I would lean towards a guy who maybe has a higher grade than James did last year.

If we could trade down, pick up a 3rd and still find a guy who is better than James, Ja'Waun could always kick inside to LG. At least it give us options along the line. We do know one thing. James is not a left tackle. A guy like DJ Humphries could be a quality LT who could fill in for Albert and eventually replace him. He is 30+ after all.

Humphries (or ?) could play LT, LG or RT and improve the line in the mean time.

That's being floated out there to attract trade partners.

It's officially draft season. All kinds of misinformation will be reported between now and the draft.

I find it comical that Perriman hasn't played a game in 3 months yet his stock has skyrocketed from an afterthought to a potential mid first round pick because he's fast. Wasn't he fast on film?

Re: Pick 14

I wouldn't say he was an afterthought. Many had him as a 2nd round pick until he ran a 4.25. That elevated him to some.

They really have to study the tape on him. From what I've read, he had a terrible QB, struggled with drops and ran sloppy routes. I wouldn't expect the sloppy routes from a guy who's father was a PB NFL receiver.

He is still a 2nd, IMO.

I get the smokescreen aspect, but this type of talk is what I'm talking about:

Andrew Abramson ?@AbramsonPBP 1h1 hour ago
UCF WR Breshard Perriman is skyrocketing. Mel Kiper now has him as No. 10 prospect, a spot ahead of Parker. #Dolphins reportedly interested

Is this legit?....or just hype
