It doesn't have to be White. Could be Parker or Cooper. All very close in value.
I'm thinking of targeting 3 Players of talent and if they are not on the board then I would try my best to trade down and select the best fit at MLB or S.
There is talk of Amari Cooper falling out of the top ten which would have been inconceivable a month ago.
But, at 14 I am looking to add Pro bowl caliber talent. The size and talent of the WR's in this draft still has to be a consideration. I like the way Parker goes after the ball.
If the top Corner is available.... we should give serious consideration.
What if Shelton is still available? Tough choice. If we can trade down and get that 3rd round draft choice back it would be great.
I'm not really looking at RB early in this draft because I don't believe that we are hurting in that area or are being stalled because of a lack of running game.
Our redzone offense needs redzone targets and protection.
I'm looking at Danny Shelton, Trae Waynes, Devante Parker as my top 3 or trade down picks.
In a trade down scenaro I'm looking at Landon Collins at safety or a starting caliber MLB.
Jim, I disagree. Lamar is a great scat back who be great on a team with a line that could open holes for him. He could also be great catching short passes out of the backfield. But he doesn't do much of that either. We really DON'T have either a satisfactory running OR passing game. If we can get one.....do it! IfTodd Gurley is there at 14, GRAB him.
Miller looked a little better catching passes out of the backfield later in the year but he is not a natural receiver. I also would not define him as a "scat" back. He has the build for it and is fast but he is just not an elusive type guy.
We definitely have a need for a more physical running back with some shiftiness to him.
The only person I have seen having Amari Cooper fall out of the top 10 is Charlie Casserly in his latest senile rant.
No way would I take Gurley (at 14) who will start the season on the PUP list...at a minimum, barring setbacks. Some teams can afford that luxury. We are not one of them. We need immediate help with pick 14. Teams in the bottom of first round can get away with that.

RESPONSE: The issue is not his catching ability. The question is given the pass rush forcing Tanny to either hurry the throw or complete it in such a manner that the tacklers are already on Miller, whether his talents in open field running can be fully taken advantage of.

RESPONSE: I disagree. I think that for the reasons pointed out above, he is not getting the yardage he would get given a different offensive blocking component.

Yes. It is weird and probably why he has had exactly ZERO returns.
If the big 3 are gone and Hickenbaum is dead set on taking a WR at 14, I'd rather take Jaelen Strong over DGB just because of the character concerns........I'm warming up to the idea of taking the best CB if all else fails.
Supposedly Sam, there is quality WR's available in the 2nd/3rd round this year, it's not a matter of just grabbing one early, it's grabbing the right one early.

So who and where is this mystery FREE AGENT cornerback?

Dont know but whoever we put opposite of grimes has a better chance of doing better than anybody we had there last year because the pass rush is going to be insane.
The truth mentions danny shelton.....imagine sug and shelton playing along side each other...Nasty.

Miami won't have the opportunity to pass up the best three receivers in the draft, Sam. Two of the best will (probably) be gone by pick 14. Miami MAY have a shot at the third best.

Pass rush can be negated by quick passing. See NE Patriots.

I Will take short passing.....as opposed to having the whole day to throw the rock and connecting on 25 yard plays over and over.
They might not have too much time with suh and wake rushing the passer.........
Looks like Gurley is rising. Heard on PTD that he may be ready for training camp. That would me amazing. I'm guessing he could go as high as 8 to the Falcons, 9 to NYG, 11 to Vikings or 14 to Miami.
I also see Bud Dupree sneaking up in the top 14. All these risers push even more talent to us at 14.
