Sounds to me like they are looking for a camp/preseason arm. Moore and Devlin injured, young kid cannot take all the snaps and probably has limited future....need someone else to take snaps.

Why in god's name would you waste one practice snap on a guy who can't play QB in the NFL, let alone in this offense?

That makes as much sense as moving Dion Jordan to LB after he added 20 lbs...oh wait...

Wow, after all these years, we finally get Quinn.

Personally, I'd rather have Ted Ginn Jr. back, than have Brady Quinn. Quinn is a scrub. If he starts at any point this season, we're f%v@d.

Quinn to take over as #3 for Devlin.

Quinn is probably better suited for Lazor's offense than Moore is.

It makes sense to dump Moore now and use that 4m to Re-sign players with longterm futures here.

I may be in the minority, but I'm one of those who believe that unless you a a bonafide super bowl contender you are better off with a bad back up qb because if he has to play more than 2 games your season is over.

I for one am glad to see that the front office is learning from previous screw-ups. They passed on Drew Brees twice -- no way were they going to make that mistake with Quinn eye rolling smiley

My only thoughts are this. That Devlin never got much even "garbage time" experience. We don't know what or WHAT NOT Devlin has.

Kind of odd decision to me unless somehow the management knows that Devlin sucks because Moore is probably not tradeable and is what 7 years into the league? Old bones give out.

So although Moore has proven himself to be a reliable backup, age might curtail that reliability.

But I hope Philbin is right and would hate to see Devlin go to another team, have that quarterback go down on an injury, be out for the season and then Devlin shows that he can step in and perform like Moore did for us a couple of seasons back.

That would mean that we got rid of a YOUNG Matt Moore in order to keep and OLD Matt Moore.

Chren Devlin is nothing but a 3rd string backup.
