Te'o will not go at #8; his combine numbers and performance against Alabama have dropped him to (probably) early in the second round.

Lacy is getting plenty of respect. He has been rated the #1 RB in this draft by everyone. The problem is....he's a running back, and RBs are a dime-a-dozen these days. He could go kind of early in the first, but I doubt it. I see him going anywhere from the mid- to late- first round, and he will probably be the only RB taken in the first.

You don't want a DB or OL in the first round? Why? Those are two positions of need for Miami. If Miami resigns Long, not so much anymore, but DB is a must.

For the OL, what if one of the top guys falls to us? For DB, what if Milliard is there? We pass those guys up....for who? The only way we pass on those two positions is if the top guys are gone and there is a blue-chip defender sitting there.

However, no matter what, I am sure those are the positions Ireland has on his big board, and once Miami's turn comes up, if any of those positions are at the top of his list, then that's where he will go.

Rhodes or Ansah. Banks may fall after the combine

Please, not Rhodes.

There are PLENTY of good CB options in this draft. And only ONE elite guy.

I'm just praying two QB's work their way into the top 11.

Then I know there will be player or two worth taking at #12.

So glad we got Tannehill last year and are not couting on this draft for a QB.

I am just wondering who, if any of our own players we resign in the next 10 days. Hartline and Clemons I hope.

I would take a shot at Desmond Bryant to replace Starks. The off field stuff is not really an issue but it may drive the price down.

yes, the one with the crazy mugshot and Harvard education. He was drunk at his house....not exactly drunk driving or a firearms issue.

Right, eesti. If he becomes a Franchise QB as Tannehill is to me and will be proven to others, we got him at precisely the right time, i.e., before Cleveland did.

And dolphin Wrote:

This is the kind of thing that is laughable.

One could have said the same thing about Dan Marino, who was the sixth QB picked in the first round in his draft. Even so, some argued that we should have gone elsewhere, particularly with a 2 year QB that had taken us to the last SuperBowl.

You can't talk about "reach" now with the exception of probably Brandon Weeden and that hasn't been proved.

Nor has it been proved about Tannehill although, unlike Weeden, he is giving all indications of satisfying all the Dolphins could have expected with RGIII and Luck gone.

It's so crazy. A "reach" is draft day language.

It doesn't mean anything unless history proves it to be true.

But dolphin, you are of the opinion that Tannehill is a bad quarterback and has played poorly.

Given how he played last year, your opinion even on that is so "far out" that there is no utility to be served in discussing it with you.

Like DolfanKing, who I am beginning to suspect very well may just be you posting under a different name, your feet are in cement on the question of Tannehill.

Neither I nor anyone else on this board can rivet through that concrete.

The 1st 5 picks for the phins will be crucial, here is my pick for them:
1. Sheldon Richardson DT Missouri, 6'3, 294 (Best DT out there)
2a. Alec Olgetree, MLB, Georgia, 6'3, 242 (beast of a LB/w mean streak)
2b. DJ Fluker, 6'5 339 OT/G, Alabama
3a. Marcus Lattimore, RB, SC, 6'0, 218 (still best back in draft)
3b. Tyrann Mathieu, CB, LSU (Yes, the honeybadger, the guy is worth it)

Only one problem. Ogletree and Fluker will most likely be gone in the first round.

HELL no to Ricky Williams 2.0 (Mathieu)....first thing you know he will be hanging with Ricky and Lenny.

That may be the worst mock I have seen all year.....

A backup/rotational DT, a moron who gets a DUI before the draft, an injury risk and a habitual offending pot head. Wow.

The Rams haven't drafted a great WR since 1999 and have swung and missed just about every year since. The only ones close to being good are Kevin Curtis in 2003 or Donnie Avery in 2008.

We'll have to see what happend with Quick and Givens.

If Mathieu is there in round 5 when Miami's turn comes up, I would take a chance on him.

Looking at the contract situations coming up, I think LB is going to be a key position for us in the draft, unless Kaddu or the CFL guy turn out to be studs. Dansby counts $11.5M against the cap in 2014, or could be cut to save $9.2M. He's as good as gone. Burnett is due to count $7M against the cap in 2014. That seems like a bargain compared to Dansby, but you'd think he's a candidate to be cut, too. And Misi will be a free agent.

The Pats should take him. Pot is for all practical purposes, "legal" to possess in MA now. Technically illegal, but all they do is write you the equivalent of a parking ticket for small possession. The thing that gets me about athletes smoking (anything....tobacco, pot, hash) is that it affects their lung capacity. Why would they do such a thing to themselves.

But it is still "illegal" in the NFL and will get you suspended.

I understand all that, but....

The guy has talent, there's no question of that. As I said, I would take a chance on him with my 5th round pick. What's to lose? How many 5th rounders make an impact anyway? If he doesn't make it, who cares? It's better than grabbing someone no one has ever heard of and cutting him in training camp.

I would take a chance.
