You are overreacting.
Every team with limited cap space loses players. Doesnt mean they are rebuilding.
Yes marshall impacts the offense a bit. But lets not confuse him with Andre Johnson or Megatron. He was more trouble than he was worth and he wasn't a great fit for our new offense. We'll be drafting WR's that fit Philbin's scheme.
Bell is ancient in football terms. Its not as big a loss as you make it out to be. New staff will find its own leaders for its schemes.
And Langford? C'mon. That's our deepest position AND we kept Soliai. You can't keep everyone.

A&O,
I don't disagree with that on the the whole.
I've said it a million times on this site: If you don't have a franchise QB you are always rebuilding. If you have one, you are retooling.
My disagreement with you is that we are in no worse a position talent wise than we have been in the last 12+ years. In fact, top to bottom, our roster is pretty good...except at QB.
We arent at our lowest point as a franchise...not by a long shot.
We just haven't moved forward into that upper third of the league because we haven't found a franchise guy. We missed out on the one guy that could have had that impact right away. Anybody else we bring in will be a longer term solution.
None of that was news two months ago. But somehow today the sky is falling and we are a joke becasue we don't have an immediate upgrade at QB.
Sorry, I'm just not buying that from the same national pundits that sold me on Manning to Miami as a lock.
Truth, an amazing post. Incisive, well thought out, and logical. What are you doing on this board? All kidding aside, couldn't have said it better myself.

I feel honored to be in the same breath as such icons as A & O and "THE TRUTH"........but seriously folks, I don't think we're 1,2 or 3 players away A&O, I think we're rebuilding....yet again, it sucks but it's a cold hard reality. I am 100% sure we will take a QB early (either Tannehill at #8 or Wheedon in the 20's somehow).
We just brought in a vastly different offense, so what did everyone think would happen? I feel way better about this team right now then last year at this time, at least now, it seems like Philbin has a plan on offense, and Ireland is working with him to bring in his type of players. Make no mistake though, it may take a year or two to get this offense clicking (especially if we get a rookie Q, but if Philbin can show some promise, all of this negative sh.t will go away.

And from not having any receivers who can actually get open.

No problem!
When are you planning on editing it to reflect you were only talking about "from a national perspective"????

I don't think there is a single person on the planet that I agree with more on sports topics than Dolphaholic. That includes my Dad and brothers who all are Phins fans.

in itself, gerard isn't a bad signing. if he is the promised "upgrade" at QB, it is a bad signing.
but he's certainly a better guy to have on the roster than, say, Pat Devlin
Gerrard was a good qb but never seemed to be able to make the next level. Does seem like the kind of guy you don't mind having around your young qb's. Moore n Cousins. Just stop it w/ Tannehill will ya

Gerrard was brought in to back up Moore (although "officially," he is going to compete with Moore for the starter's job). Miami WILL draft a QB.
If they have strong convictions on Tannehill, that is Miami's first pick. They may have to trade up to get him as Cleveland may also be after him. And....a team further behind may make a deal and trade up for Tannehill.
If Miami wants Tannehill but is not willing to trade up, then they could stay and hope he falls to them, or....Miami could trade down and grab Tannehill if he is still there or Weeden, while picking up an extra 2nd.
