it looks like even we we lost today, we'd probably have improved at most 1 spoot from where we ended up, and maybe ended up at the same place. beating the jets is definitely worth that to me since we'd need to trade up anyway to get RG3

There's your problem...its not about winning or losing...is simply a question of being correct or incorrect about the interpretation of a published NFL rule..

You don't trust Berk's integrity, you think my opinion isn't impartial because you are involved (we could discuss how conceited that position is at another time), you think everyone else here is wrong and I give you an impartial 3rd party who makes HIS LIVING reporting things like this and is therefore aware of how important it is to provide accurate information AND that isn't enough.

Tell you what...you want to ask the NFL...knock yourself out...go prove us wrong.

Until then, all you got on your side of the argument is a convoluted opinion and you know what they say about opinions.

I've proved our point. No need for me to prove it again.

I could post any of the dozens of articles from today listing the draft order and explaining that the first tiebreaker is SOS, then other things that are NOT head to head, then a coin flip but really....why bother?
I could also post things saying the earth is round but chyrenB would say "but that article doesn't also talk about the moon so until you show me an article that says the earth is round AND talks about the moon, I will continue to believe it is flat."

so again....why bother?

Give me a response by the NFL. I have emailed them but you contend that you can't find an email address.

Until then, your theories are as good as mine.....just theories.

By the way, I hope you went back and calculated the wins THIS year and that it supported your point BEFORE you posted last.

I will.

If it supports your position, so what? It could simply be mere coincidence.

But if it doesn't, then you have merely produced another piece of data refuting your premise.

What e-mail did you send your inquiry to?

Mine's not a theory. It's THE Truth.

Yours isn't a theory either. Its stubborn obstinance.

Carolina SOS = .504

Miami = .504

Bills = .520

Hence...coin flip between Miami and carolina coming up to determine who picks 8th and 9th. Bills pick 10th.

Now had Miami and Carolina played this year the coin flip wouldn't be necessary...head to head would be used (oh the irony).

BUT SOS is the FIRST tiebreaker. THEN you get to the other stuff like head to head...coin flip...etc....

Lol...of course. Facts that don't fit your premise are ignored and written of as coincidence...lol.

I couldn't have made that up if I wanted to....beautiful...grinning smiley

Ha. Even better...if my facts are right they are coincidence and prove nothing. If they are wrong they are conclusive proof I'm wrong.

Wow.

If ChyrenB is still arguing after the post from NFL.com that list the draft order and SOS there isn't hope. The NFL has been doing drafts this way for at least the last 30 years.

At this point it isn't about knowing and understanding the draft rules, it is about having to admit that a theory is wrong. ChyrenB can't admit he is wrong. As I said, not the first time this has happened on the internet.

IMO, the best way to deal with this is like a contained fire. Just let it burn itself out.

Unless of course you are a pyro. Then fire, fire, burn, burn!

Mike, I have conceded that the Bills draft after the Dolphins. That is no longer the argument. So what's your point?

The question is WHY do they draft after the Dolphins.

Well, then that's your position, Mike. Don't imply that I am arguing that the Dolphins will draft after the Bills.

I did argue that before I realized that Carolina was in the equation and that the "grouping" language called for SOS AT THAT POINT. But I have yet to see anything indicating that where there are two teams in consideration alone, then head to head would not be applicable and the entire premise of the NFL has always been that head to head is the first tiebreaker on EVERYTHING second only to won-lost record.

Head to head is not applicable when ordering draft positon.

End of discussion until we get a source from the NFL that directly addresses the question of whether head to head is the first tiebreaker when only TWO teams are in consideration for a draft spot.

Until then neither the buffoonery of "The Inaccuracy" nor berk's insults motivated by his own inferiority complex matter.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the end of discussion, period.

You started by asking for clarification, then you turned it into an argument with one poster, then a conspiracy of many posters against you, and have gone on to write essays as to why we are all wrong.

All I was doing was trying to help you out. Talk about biting the hand...

Please don't interpret my future silence on the draft order as implicit agreement. Chances are it won't be.
