I really love Sporano's fire and intensity. I think it's really good for this young team, and amps up the vets too.
That being said, after Carpenter flubbed the squibb kick, do you think Sporano's verbal thrashing on the sideline got Carpenter thinking too much that it affected his missed 48 yd attempt?
The bright side of missing a non-essential, long FG attempt (if there *is*a bright side) is that he no longer has a streak going. He had hit what, 12 or 13 in a row? Now when he has a FG attempt he doesn't have it in the back of his mind that he has a streak going and just concentrate on the kick at hand, not how many he's made in a row.
My vote is for Sparano but Harbaugh and Smith will give him a run for his money. It all depends on who does better in December. So far Miami and Baltimore have one win vs Atlanta's one loss in December. Edge goes to Miami due to greater improvement. Miamis went from 1 win to eight so far. Baltimore went from 5 to 9. 7 game improvement to a 4 game improvement.
Prior to that Miami had only 6 wins (2006) to Baltimore's 13 wins.
