I said that too. We still don't have a PR. just dumb to get rid of him for a 5th round pick. but when was the last time we made a good trade and outsmarted someone (except ourselves)?
yes he's an awful WR (though still is OK as a #4 or 5 deep threat) but he's a good returner as he showed for us and again today. and we got rid of him for peanuts and are still looking for a returner
problem is with us he needed to live up to cammoron's #9 selection and "family" remark, which only a #1 WR could do and he wasn't that. take away that baggage and you could appreciate him for what he is, a return specialist. we haven't had one of those before or since

I agree. What he did to the Jets alone I will remember him fondly. Just another one for the books for Miami.......the ultimate farm Team.
ironic that as horrible as cam was as our HC, today he is the best OC in the NFL, his 4th rounder solia is a great NT, and his bust first rounder is a more relevant player than brady quinn who he passed on. the trifecta hit on the #1 overall pick Long (you better if you take and OL #1 overall), but outside of that they have more misses than hits. still, cam was the worst HC ever so canning him was the right move.
just sayin
and odds are you wont hear another thing about Ginn for the rest of the year....Armstrong had 2 catches today for 24 yards and a TD...he also had several drops.
It amazes me how quick some are to jump to conclusions after 1 game. First it was preseason and now Ginn is the second best returner in the league. When TG was here he couldn't even field a punt let alone return it.
Ginn was the 33rd ranked kick returner last year with ZERO touchdowns. Not even close to being the 2nd best. Players better than Ginn...
Devin Hester, Brad Smith 2 tds, Stephan Logan 1 td, Brandon Tate 2 tds, Michael Spurlock 1 td, Leon Washington...3 tds, Jacoby Ford...3 tds, Percy Harvin....the list goes on and on.
I will say this though...He is getting better... especially at PRs where he ranked 3rd last year with 1 td.
Sorry A&O, but if you think Tedd Ginn would be a major difference-maker on this team, then you're missing a few things. The biggest hit our ST has EVER taken was when Wanny pushed out Westhoff. Everything else pales in comparison.
I submit that even WITH Ginn we wouldn't be any better. In fact, we'd be worse, because we'd have to find a roster spot for him and probably cut one of our WRs. Which of our WRs would you cut for Ginn? Moore? Wallace? Gates? Hartline? WHO???
With his lofty draft status and lack of any real production for us, Ginn had to go, plain and simple. He was more maligned then Henne is now. And like eesti said, lets see him do it on a consistent basis all year long.
Monte- You are right. Getting rid of Westhoff was idiotic.
Dolphaholic- You are right, also. Ginn was the most maligned player in team history.
It still doesnt take away the fact that he is a great return man who has the ability to take returns to the house. And at the moment, we dont have anybody remotely like that on our team.
