What was the point of that 3rd down play? Even if it was complete, it was short of the marker. I just don't understand it.
Was no one open?
Now we punt.

double teaming is the way to go. We held them to a FG now. That's the thing, the D coordinator has to move guys around in support.
Now is the time for us to score on offense. Get something going.

Did anybody think Ginn would really catch that pass? Fasano is continuing his uselessness for the third game as well.
Anyway, the wildcat is working fine. We're eating up yardage. Now let's score.
Wow, I didn't realize the Chargers were all banged up and their lines full of holes. I think we have a good chance to win this game.

I know but it's not enough. We have too many slot guys, too many guys who basically do the same thing.
It's the same situation as before - NE took Welker because he was a waste on our team, and made him part of a superbowl package. Some other team could come in here and take Bess. Or take Hartline, who is pretty good. But we don't have all the pieces working together.
Honestly, I love

Three dropped TD passes and they did their job? Did you turn on the tv this afternoon and hear ditka, marino, sharp, etc? There is no reason why that much time on the field from an offense should not result in more points. This isn't 1958, it's not enough to grind down the field for 3 points. You have to score touchdowns, and you have to make big plays. You have to be able to throw the ball!

I know, Turner wasn't active. Wilford didn't dress for a long time too, and not he's no longer on the team.
I was not pleased that we didn't pick up a good wr. But when we drafted turner, I was hoping he would at least fill a need - that big target with sure hands in the red zone. He can't make it on the field, either because he's not good enough or the coach doesn't have confidence in hi

J Twilley, the media is conservative to right wing, not liberal. But I won't go there.
Yes, it is great to hear an unfiltered voice from the front line. Afghanistan is a tough place right now for a soldier, and as you said politically it is a tougher nut to crack. You'll likely have some company soon since the generals are asking for 40 thousand more boots, which they'll surely get.

That makes no sense. Why would teams want to "throw on us all day" instead of run the ball? With running you tire out the D, your QB doesn't get hurt, there's no risk of an interception. Most ridiculous statement I've heard all day.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Yes, it was way too conservative. It was as if they had no idea they were playing against Peyton Manning. They thought Joey Harrington was on the Colt's sideline.
Coaching decisions are horrendous. And they've been bad for the 2nd year. I want them to do well, and I squinted and shifted and turned the other way and pretended that 1st year that they weren't doing as bad a job as what I saw.

Someone mentioned Chambers...how was Chambers' performance unacceptable on our team and Tedd Ginn's is not? Ginn is making catches Chris didn't?
And as far as the defense, sure we could use upgrades, and you're not going to make older guys younger, we have what we have. But I think we have a good defense. To say to them, ok now go in there are stop Peyton Manning from scoring, is ludicrous.

Imagine how the women feel....maybe they too begin to wonder when are you dudes going to turn into brad pitt.

I'm still waiting for Ginn's breakout year.
I'm not a Ginn hater, but I don't want the guy on the team if he's incapable of making the clutch catches for us. Ok, so he caught some over the middle. THAT'S HIS JOB. As someone else said, those are routine catches. He had several imcomplete passes as well as several which were completed. That's not outstanding play, that's average play.

Well, I write a post the morning after the game, and all the newspaper articles and additional posts on our blog seem to be pointing to the same thing: Time management and play calling. Meanwhile, all you people can do is blame the defense.
Some of you live in a Alice in Wonderland world where you expect our defense to destroy Payton Manning.
How did we make them punt on their second po

Sparano admitted that the coaches called in a play to Pennington during the 2 minute (over 3 minutes) drill on that last drive, which did not match the players on the field. So that's a screw up, period. That whole drive sucked with time management. It was as if they were trying to run the clock out!
And the time period before the half sucked too. They seemed to be rushing their guts out

Stop ragging on the defense.
You expect to totally stop Payton Manning? They didn't put up 30 or 40 points on us, they scored as much as we scored, except we couldn't score last.
We held them to something like 60 yards rushing. In the first half, the only TD Manning got was that fluke at the beginning of the game, and you can't blame the front 7 on that. If you take out that initial TD,

The defense is not lame. They're what keeps us in every game, game after game, when Pennington is putting nothing but field goals up or going three and out. Yesterday was a tough day for them, but they held up until the 4th quarter. Ranger is right, the secondary is the weakness on the D, and we all knew that going into the season. Gibril Wilson is not any good, and Bell was not playing well.

Why not? I don't care how many yards the offense got. Yeah, the wildcat worked with Ronnie, not Pat, and he carried the team tonight. But there are times during any game when you need your number one WR to catch a pass long

Don't blame it all on the defense, although nobody but Porter made any big plays. Who's brilliant idea was it to blitz everybody late in the game, and leave a WR open for Manning?
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Maybe he's blind. Maybe he can't see the ball. I don't know why people say he has good hands, I see him do that cross-hand thing over and over, and come up with air.
This is a disgusting loss. The time management sucked. It was a joke. And for us to be any kind of playoff team, we need our key players to step up and make plays.
Key Player: Ginn - couldn't catch shit.
Key Player: Car
