Actually Philbin got the QB. The only reason Dolphins drafted Tannehill is because they were looking for WCO QB in the mold of Rodgers, and Philbin got Mike Sherman who was his coach. Ireland? smh at people thinking Ireland had anything to do with that. Ireland was on his last legs. Ross and Mike Dee wanted a fun sucessful system, they were asking for it for years and weren't getting it.

Philbin got you the QB. He got you the offense that produced a 93-rating passer and #2 rushing attack in the NFL. The only reason the Dolphins have a prayer after a decade+ of disasters is Philbin. It's time to start respecting the man, instead of mouthing off like a fool.

The way it is now, there are too many teams. We just watched the ugliest wild card weekend. 9-7, 7-9 teams do not belong. Yeah yeah, tell that to the Giants! But, Giants should not have been in those playoffs at 9-7. I'm not a fan of a team squeeking in after a mediocre season. Philbin got you the QB, something no one has done since Shula in 84, so it's time to start respecting the

Wallace is not happy with # of targets. Wallace is not happy about how hw is used. He is not happy with OC and QB. He is not happy that he only has $3 mil guaranteed left and would like to get a new contract with more guaranteed money. Wallace has to go.

Historically bad? smh. How about John Hard blow? Lost his OC and QB coach. Teams lose coaches every year. This thread is a fail, bum!

That Dline was the worst unit on the team. Kacy Rodgers was the worst positional coach on the team. Moreover, the Dline was full of guys who don't care and underperform. I suppose Rodgers also did not care and underperformed. Good riddance to that loser!

So many good defensive players in this draft, so many edge players. It will be tough to decide. I hav no favorite yet and that's unusual. There is no clear need, there are no clear favorites. Either a playmaker, or McKinney at MLB makes the most sense.

Anthony Johnson was a better DT in college, a better prospect, and will be a better DT for us. Odrick has not done a single thing to warrant 800+ snaps that he played, and now he should not be resigned because he is a situational player, no more. He is no good and easily replaceable.

How was Odrick our best tackle? Odrick has less tackles per snap than MItchell or Starks and less sacks. Based on what is he the best, the eye test?!? Because it certainly isn't production. I don't see why Odrick should be resigned. We can get his production from Anthony Johnson for far less money.

Fans love to shat on Philbin. Bottom line is, our O did not score in the redzone. Packers had the same issue yesterday. Patriots do not have that issue. Second issue is, our D was not good. We are bottom 10 in stopping the run. You saw in these playoff how important rushing and stopping the rush. We are top 5 in the league in rushing, yet Lazor did not rush enough. We relied on the pas

I like it, but I like it in the overall plan for improving the defense, not because Shelton is the BPA necessarily. I like Shelton because he does a lot of things right. I like his strong lower body and strength. Two things concern me with Shelton as the #14 pick. One is the lack of explosion. Shelton does not have the explosion and gap penetration of Bennett, or Aaron Donald last year.

DBG is undraftable. Nobody wants to see a wife beater, a felon, as the #1 receiver and the face of the franchise. No one wants to watch that in the stadium, or work along side that in any organization. Some team may draft him in the 5th and hide him for a year. I don't think it should or will be the Dolphins. Don't care for his production or potential and nobody should. Let him fix his l

The scheme is meaningless without good coaching. The guy who won SB MVP in Seattle wasn't even drafted. That GM in Seattle looks like a genius, because they have top notch coaching. I watched Nevada last year with a bunch of undrafted guys dominate FSU who had top 50 Olinemen across the board, Jameis Winston #1 overall pick, Davonta Freeman who is the #1 back for the Flacons, O'Leary, KB. I

He deserves an extension, a long term extension. We are in good hands and on a good path. 1. He got us a QB, finally. 2. He installed a winning offensive system. 3. We finally have a stable winning philosophy, like great teams, Ravens, Packers, Steelers, Patriots, that we can build on. 4. Young players are developing well in the system, contributing. 5. We are close, in the hunt to be a

OK, So we got a HC, the man with the plan, an administrator with SB pedigree from a winning system and organization, who got the QB finally, installed the system finally, got rid of Ireland and straighten up scouting, after like 2.5 decades, and we bring in this blabbering fool with who no one will be able to get in a word sideways, to fack up things midstream when things are looking to be fina

WCO is a calling system based on spread formation (3WR, 1 TE, 1 RB base), as opposed to power formation football. Our passing game is that system. But with Lazor, we run it out of pistol (zone-read) to set up both the running and passing attack. The benefit are that we spread the defense out and there are wide open spaces in the field. Very much what you see in college every Saturday.

It's an excellent track record. Of course, the concern is that the Dolphins are picking and they do not have a good track record in the first round regardless of the position. We say this every year, Dolphins must draft a beast, a player that impacts the game, and every year we overddraft a decent player with minor impact in the first round, a player whose comparable we could've gotten much l

Nah. The coaches are fine on this one. This is an "overpaid" player issue. Some of these players are basically saying: Cut me if you dare! I would cut them coldblooded. Of course, there are a lot of haters clamoring about Philbin, on forums and media. We don't need Mike Wallace. I aplaud Philbin for being calm, trying to work it out with these bums, save their careers and i

Excellent post Joe. Those guys did worse and Philbin made the right choice of the available options. Injuries ruined the FA signings, which was FO's forte last offseason. They did well together for the most part, injuries notwithstanding. It will be interesting to see how they attack talent acquisitions this offseason. It's a challenging year considering the state of the defense and the ca

Fixing the defense must start with new DC and his staff of position coaches. Being torched by Geno Smith and Teddy Bridgewater is unacceptable. I admit that we have personnel issues, some guys like Finnegan and Dline quit. Wilson was a waste at the safety spot. We had injuries. But bottom line is, DC is awful!! Once the new DC gets hirred, we can talk about cleaning the house from overp

Wallace quiting is enough to cut him wo pay. I'd have him sue me for the money--you quit, you don't get paid. Add to the list the number of times he gives up on a play. I've seen wideouts in college this bowl season every game give effort I'd love to see from the Dolphins' #1 WR.

No, I do not agree. Purge is needed when you are 4-12 for 3 years in a row. 8-8 is a good record. We are close to the extent we have the system, the coaches, and the QB to compete. We need some improvements, but not a purge. 1. Phins need better playcalling on game days. Consistent balance on offense throughout a game and from game to game. On defense they need to simplify things, put

This team is in it to win it. Also, who is there at 8 that we can't live without? Why would we tank for 8th spot? In addition, 8th spot does not work as well as 20th spot, financially. The benefits are just not there.
