No, we don't. We do not need a franchise receiver. Franchise receiver is for teams like Bengals who run power football--2-wide sets, and need a guy who will get volume targets, 150+. We need a #2 boundary guy, and a #4--Hartline and Gibson replacements. Hartline guy will get 80 targets, and Gibson guy is in for 4-wide sets, red zone. Miller is a franchise RB, he's a top 5 RB in ypc. Mill

^ That's a good point. Phins should draft a starter or immediate backup, starter material, in all rounds. I do not want to see Aiken, Lynch, Hazel, guys who are backups to backups, drafted at all. That means, no TEs (if Clay is resigned), no RBs, No LBs, No CBs (if Finnegan Stays). Get those guys in UDFA. And get a QB in UDFA. (If RT goes down, the season is lost anyway.) We do not

Yes, I agree, lots of fast receivers in this draft. But most if not all will be gone by mid round 3.

I'm not big on WR at 14. We are not a team like the Ravens, or Broncos, or Dallas, that need a volume wideout (150+ targets). We need a tall guy to get a 50/50 ball occasionally in the redzone. We also need an athletic WR for about 80-90 attempts at #2 boundary, and at the #4, Gibson spot. There are several ways to go about this. Lockett can be very functional at #2. DeAndrew White is a g

White will gone, he has solidified #1 WR spot, and Cooper most likely will be gone by 14. I was not impressed with Parker, in spite of his solid 40 time, he looked lazy, with slow hands, and stiff in and out of cuts.

Gurley would be a GM pick to force coaches to run more and pass less, thus reducing interceptions, sacks, sack fumbles, and keeping the defense keyed away from the pass.

I think Delmas is a must in FA. Clay is the second FA priority. They will cost $7-8 mil. Team can cut Gibson ($3M) and Hartline ($6M post J1) to get that money. That makes the starters largely unchanged and leaves the draft for upgrades. Miller Tannehill James, Thomas, Pouncey, Smith, Albert Wallace, Clay, Landry, Matthews Wake, MItchell, Starks, Vernon Jenkins, Misi, Jordan Grime

Finnegan played well, with the exception of the GB blunder at the end, until he got hurt in week 10. When he came back in week 17, he looked bad. Team needs to decide whether second-half performance was an anomaly due to injury.

I mentioned him and Gurley as one of the two must draft or get fired immediately picks for Hickey, several weeks back. But I've since cooled off and think he is undraftable for off the field staff. You can't hire a guy like that with guaranteed money. Moreover, I've cooled off on Gurley as well. A player drafted, hired for guaranteed money, must be a starter or immediate backup, and no i

Geez, Matthews is young, our draftee and costs $700k, Gibson produces as much as Matthews and is paid 6x more. And, Hazel? If he was any good he would've seen some action. I don't get the 90% certainty on Hazel. I doubt they keep him just because Hickey drafted him. Matthews is better than Hazel and I don't see where Hazel fits, not even on the practice squad.

Renaissance of Youth under Philbin: We have Miller, Williams Tannehill Sims (Clay), James, Turner, Pouncey, Smith, Landry, Matthews It would be nice to see Matthews and Turner step up. If they nail the LT and WR again in the draft, they are set for 4 years on offense.

I am lumping them together because they played by Odrick's side, it's one spot. The other spot was Odrick with his 800 snaps. Odrick's spot was useless. Odrick was the 3 tech disruptor, and useless. The other spot, even though not primarily a rusher was more productive, with Mitchel and especially Starks. Money spent on Mitchel and Starks is fair. Spending that same or more money on Odri

But: 1. You do realize that Pouncey played guard lasat year and sucked ass, because he was out of position. Smith was out with inury most of the year at LG, and Colledge played. Pouncey is going back to C, and Colledge is out to FA. Smith was tremendous in the ZBS, our best blocker. Thomas was excellent at RG during the season, but unfortunately played at RT. Finally, we were depleted at

lol. I'm just saying, as far as deep ball, it's unfair. But as far as QB rating/performance, it's fair. He is already at 93, with 590 attempts, which is high, 6.86 avg, 66%, 27/12. (Brady is at 97, 580, 64%, 7.1 avg, 32/9.) RT is close. He is up there with those guys. (Flacco's rating is 91.)

Flacco, Romo play power formation offense with big receivers off of playaction. That's quite different than what we run. It's one thing to commit safeties to the box because of the run game, and have 50/50 1-on-1 with your big receiver on the boundary, and just heave it up (like we saw Russell Wilson do in the SB.); and it's another to play spread with smaller receivers and only 5 blocking wh

I think we need a WR in the draft, but not a big #1 WR. We don't run 2 wide sets, power formation football as you said. Vertical game is only important to our system in the redzone. Right now we do not have that 50/50 WR throw-high, let-your-guy get vertical jump ball. But I do not think that Phins should draft a WR high for that. I think Gibson should be cut because of freeing significant

I watched Shaq Thompson. I was not impressed at all. He is attractive as a combo nickel DB/FS/OLB because he can stay on the field at all positions, considering how much nickel/2LB sets teams play. That is his appeal, he will stay on the field and have a chance to make a lot of plays. But as a player, he is middle of the pack, imo.

We have dumb playcallers, like Seattle. I know Ryan is good, but 600 passing attempts with backup Oline and a top-of-the-league run game was dumb af. Coyle with his usage of personnel, and playcalling killed us too. We need better coordinators. Maybe those two fools will improve, but I would not bet on it. Neither can playcall.

So? He is average, slightly better than average in fact. He is #14 in the league based on the rating, and he is improving.

Ppl, Henne had 301 attempts in 2010, and 6.7 avg, with Brandon Marshall, 75 rating, 15TD, 19 INTs, 35 rushing attempts for 1.5 avg. Don't ever bring up Henne when talking about Tannehill. It's not close, it is ridiculous.

I was sold on Gurley, but the more I watch the videos of different prospects, I want Josh Shaw DB USC at 14. This dude is elite and can play all 4 DB spots at an elite level. The second guy I am looking at is Donovan Smith OT from PSU. He's a beast, athletic, flexible, strong, at 340 lbs, 6-5. I'd play him at RG. I feel like if we get those two in rounds on and two, we improve the offense
