he did something I haven't seen a phin do in a long time. get hit, stay on his feet and then accellerate away from the pack. he's a keeper as a returner. I don't care if that's all he can do at this point. We need him on the team returning punts.
They could carry 6 WR on the 53 man roster a few different ways. One would be to go with Clay at FB/TE, and just 2 pure TE (Fasano/Shuler). But, being able to carry 6 WR on game day would be very difficult, to say the least.
We carried 4 TE at the end of last year, and that was necessary. At one point, we also had 10 LB on the 53-man roster. So, just keeping a 6th WR isn't that hard. But, it would mean one of the top 5 WR would likely never see the field.
They could carry 6 becasue, Roberto Wallace, Marlon Moore , Bess and Gates play ST , very well also, so it is easy to keep an extra reciever and or bring him to game day roster, when he helps covers kicks and punts or returns them...
Bess, Marshall Hartline, Gates, Moore, Wallace
Also we ran 4 WR sets last night, it is hard to be a team running 4 WR sets without at least 6 WR on the roster.... Sure Bush can play WR... I think we keep 6 personally.
I think its a little early to say this. I like the fact that when he returned that punt, it actually wasn't much of a surprise because every kick he had touched before the punt was a good return, and I was waiting for him to finally break a big one. However, we had a guy like this a few years ago, and he made the team. First game. somebody really laid a solid shot on him, and he was never the same. He lasted two more games, then got cut. Not saying Livas will be like that, but the possibility exists.
