I don't know. Wanny was a pretty decent DC in Dallas. Otherwise, I agree. Thigpen won't see the field (so, he's a non-factor) and Torbor sucks bigtime. Martin won't make a huge impact either way.
I don't think WAnny is even a good coordinator. Anyone could have coached that talent they has in DAL those seasons and they would have done well. When he was hear, I don't recall him having a scheme or an idea that made an impact--as opposed to say a Nolan, or a Capers

You're kidding, right? The defense we had under Wanny was nasty. No one could run against us, and we had one of the top secondaries in the league as well. Problem is we couldn't score points. I recall winning games 9-3...and losing them that way as well.
we had a good D under wanny, but again I don't recall anything special in terms of the schemes. maybe you're right, he's a good D coordinator, I just hate the guy so much for destroying this team for years to come that I can't see it!

I'm in agreement with you on that. I'd love seeing him fall flat on his face.

I think it was due to fatigue. Those plays usually happened in the 2nd half while we were trying to hold on to, say, a 3-point lead. I remember those days: We score enough points in the 1st half to get a lead (however little a lead it is), then the offense becomes run-run-run-punt in the 2nd half, and it was up to the defense to hold our lead. Pathetic!!
ugh I remember the end of the NE game the year we had the league's #1 rusher and top D and D player of the year in Ricky. And we totally collapsed by going into a shell. And then needing to run out the clock we had Feidler throw 2 times from deep in our territory causing us to lose in OT and miss the playoffs. Damn Wannstedt!!!
